Dear Donald Trump

I felt something tugging at my spirit so I just had to let it out. 

I am a product of an immigrant Mexican family who came to America to strive for a better life. My grandfather crossed the Mexican/American border because he had a family of 8 to take care of, and that’s exactly what he did. As a gardener, he tended to the gardens of the rich every single day and built an impressive business as an immigrant with no assistance. He built his business and bought several properties without a smidgen of education, just the product of hard work. He worked his ass off until the age of 75, when he passed away. Fast forward to my mother - that woman is amazing; I swear if you met her, you’d love us. My mother raised 3 kids on her own - no education, just hard work. Growing up, we suffered lots of set-backs but her tenacious spirit always bounced back and we moved forward. She worked as a janitor at a hotel for most of my life then moved on to being a nanny, cleaning private homes; she also ‘hustled’ selling jewelry, clothing etc to make ends meet and make sure we had what we needed. At the age of 60, my mother continues to work her ass off despite her health issues because that’s all she knows. My family has never used public assistance or committed crimes - we’ve all been outstanding contributing members of society, have pursued higher education and give back to our communities. My whole life, I’ve been taught the value of hard work, ambition, tenacity and family - lessons I hope to pass on to my children, and so on. I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing family because we are second-to-none; we might not be millionaires, like Mr Trump, but we’re so rich in culture, tradition, love and support. I am a Mexican Woman who loves her brown skin, ethnicity and culture - most of all, I love my people, we are the shit. 

Back to Donald Trump 

Now, I’d like to thank you for showing the world how much of a joke politics in America really is. For you to come on TV with that speech full of hate and bigotry makes me so embarrassed; the world is laughing at you, they’re laughing at us. Your speech was full of rich white privilege, did you listen to yourself? I gave your speech 2 chances because I thought it was’t fair for me to judge you based on the racist remarks you made in the first 2 minutes of your speech. To my surprise, you outdid  yourself the second time around. So, let’s touch on a few points besides the racism. In this speech, you openly admitted that you had lobbyists who work for you. What does this mean? This means, you’ve used your money, privilege and power to manipulate politics at one time. As my president, what makes me think you won’t be manipulated as well? You also talked about Israel and how you’d defend them - why would you defend a country like Israel? Are you oblivious to what they’re doing to Palestine? You also talked about jobs - you know, the ones us regular folk have to work. Yes, jobs are going to other countries - why? Let’s be honest, this is a product of corporate greed. The jobs are in India, China and Mexico because the cost of labor is dirt cheap, thus, profits sky rocket. I did some homework, to my surprise, your clothing line is produced in China. So, tell me, if you’re so concerned about jobs, why did you take them from us?   

Back to the main reason I’m here - don’t you ever in your white male privileged mind think you can talk about my people like we are the scum of the nation and think that will fly. Let me tell you something, sir, you call us the scum of the nation but we are not the ones who shoot up schools, churches or movie theaters. Now tell me who the real problem is?
