[Begin Broadcast.] Kennedy and Jasper are volunteered for a supply run. While they are picking through the old shops of Buffalo Springs. Unbeknownst to them, they have wandered into Silas Dennel’s territory and it is clear they are not wanting for one thing Dennel needs if he wants to maintain his new-found power: Water. 

He waits until the two inevitably separate as they search for goods and then siezes what he assumes to be the weakest (and therefore easiest to control) link with the intent of getting more information, letting Jasper get away so that one of his people can follow him.

Current Status: Day 09 - 18

Everyone has made it back to the ranch. JD and Marshall were successful in retrieving Zach (sort of) and they also picked up Todd on the way back. Unfortunately, Kit was separated during the fight and could not be located. 

Matt, Jo, and Katya made it to Bridgeport, but the plane was a no-go. They picked up Jasper while there and returned to find Kennedy raiding the kitchen.

Now that everyone is back on the ranch, they should be getting to know one another, figuring out weapons, fighting abilities, and improving security around the ranch. Since supplies are dwindling, groups will have to head out to surrounding towns. (See Prompt for details).

New characters can collaborate to see how they run into group members in the little towns! Finally, one of our villains will be making an appearance, so it is very important to talk to Admin before setting your characters on an adventure into a town for supplies!!

Prompt #3: A Dose of Reality When: Day 09 – 18 Location: Rocking W Ranch – Bowie, TX

Background: So the plane was a bust, but at least they managed to rescue Zach… Sort of. As usual nothing ever goes according to plan. JD and Marshall did find Zach, but during a rescue attempt of their two newest additions (Todd and Kit) Zach was bit, though the boy hid that information, afraid of what the adults might do if they discovered his injury. Meanwhile, Matt, Fox, and Jo returned to the ranch with a new guest as well (Jasper) only to discover a trespasser (Kennedy) digging through the cabinets.

Now the group must try to figure out what their next step is as they all get to know one another. Unfortunately supplies are starting to run low, and the food stores are dwindling fast. While they might have kept two or three people fed for months, with the group number expanding, the food stores are dwindling fast. As a result small teams must venture out to the local towns to see what can be scavenged.

Some ideas to consider for a self-para, partnered para, or convo:

What does your character think of the growing group?

Is he or she trying to get to know them?

Has he or she identified a weapon of choice yet?

Get to know the members of the group through chance/deliberate encounters.

Pair up for a scavenger trip (Please let admin know so that it can be added to the plot update. We don’t want everyone scavenging at the same time.) :

Do they run into walkers?

Do they meet other survivors that don’t make it?

Do they find anything interesting?

Practical Scavenging locations include:

Sunset, Fruitland, Forestburg, Montague, Stoneburg, Newport, Crafton, Bellevue, Vashti  (These should all be very small towns within about half an hour to forty five minutes of Bowie)

Showdown #1

Every story needs a villain (or three or four), and we know how fun it can be to write that character (and we don’t always want to be the one writing them since that can get predictable). SO, we want to challenge you, our cast, to create a villain for an upcoming plot. We will tailor a plot to whatever character you create so there are no requirements. You have 72 hours from the first villain app that is received. We will vote on our favorite and then collaborate with the one we are most interested in exploring.

Please don’t be upset if your villain is not chosen. We will do this again. Know that if you did get chosen, your villain will probably die, though we may decide to let them escape to haunt the group at another time and place.

IF your villain is chosen, you can just create a sub-blog on your current blog. There is no need for a new one.

And please, don’t get too attached. They are most likely going to die.

Current Status: Day 06 - 08

Matt, Fox, & Jo are headed to Bridgeport to look for Fox’s plane. They’ll leave on Day 06 and they will return to the ranch near midnight with Jasper in tow. So those four will be at the ranch on Day 07 & 08.

Marshall and JD are taking county roads to avoid most of the pile-up but that means they will also miss Kit & Todd, who will be left to brave the road on foot until the early hours of Day 08. Since they are looking for Zach, JD & Marshall will head to Southlake and will eventually realize that they aren’t going to find him and start to head back on a different route in the hopes of finding Matt’s son.

This route will connect with Art, Cyrus, & Zach on Day 07. They’ll be forced to wait out the night and slip out very early on Day 08 eventually leading to Kit & Todd who have been closed in by walkers.

Prompt #2: A Fool’s Hope When: Day 06 - 08 Location: Rocking W Ranch - Bowie, TX

Background: Emotionally exhausted, confused, and afraid, the group finally reaches Marshall’s ranch on Day 04. They spend the next few days recuperating and attempting to deal with the impossible events that led to their arrival. However the peaceful serenity is soon shattered when Matt learns of his wife’s demise and his son’s possible survival. A small team heads back to Dallas in the hopes of finding Zach leaving the rest behind in the relative safety of the ranch. Anxious and unwilling to just sit around, the remaining members decide to help Katya to her airport in the hopes of at least getting her home at last.

Some ideas to consider for a self-para, partnered para, or convo:

How is your character coping with everything that has happened so far?

Does he or she have any family that might still be alive?

Get to know the members of the group--does he or she trust anyone? Are they afraid of someone or something beyond walkers?

When: Day 01 – 05

Location: DFW & Surrounding Area

Background:

No one really knows where it all started, but something is definitely up. People have gone crazy, and trusting anyone it seems, is more than just a little dangerous. The ones that don’t want to turn you into their main entrée seem determined to rob you blind or use you as bait so they can get away. Whatever is going on, its clear that staying in the DFW area is a bad idea. The authorities have been trying to keep people from panicking, but it’s clear from the mass exodus that no one believes staying locked up in their homes is the ‘best’ idea. People want out, and they’d rather sit in their cars on the stacked highway than wait for a neighbor to stop by and eat them.

Some ideas to consider for a self-para, partnered para, or convo:

What is your character doing during the initial outbreak? Was he or she already in the DFW area? Trying to leave? Just arriving?

Is your character the type of person that puts him or herself in danger to help other escaping survivors, or would he or she just run. To hell with everyone else, its every man for himself so to speak.

 Have fun a remember not to go past Day 05.
