My mother is looking into breeding them after two litters of Finnish Spitz (too hard to home even though we love them). What's your opinion of them?
Look. I let this sit for months. Because I want to give you a good answer.
I love pyrsheps. They are my heart breed. I could go on and on about all the things I love about them.
But.
They are a VERY specific taste. And honestly I just want to tell you. Unless you are over the moon passionate about the breed do not breed them. They aren’t a popular breed that always has homes lined up. They need very specific people and most people are not that. And it would be a disservice to them to try to change their more difficult traits in effort to make them more broadly appealing.
Salems sister was just placed in the last month. They are 7 months old. That’s how long it took to find the right fit for her. And she’s a stunning example of the breed.
I don’t want this to be negative or confrontational or anything like that. Please get around pyrsheps and see if you love them! I love them a lot!!! But if you’re looking for a breeding prospect over breed passion, you’re not going to end up in a desirable situation.
I am a very permissive puppy owner and frequently forget I have help at my disposal and I always feel so victorious when I can just plop Salem in his xpen
