The fight for a better world, is many fights: for all workers, in all countries and nations, in all industries and jobs, of all genders and sexualities.

The berry pickers creed
I will leave unripened berries untouched
A ripe berry need only be negotiated with, not fought
I will reasses my surroundings after every step, for my new perspective could reveal a berry patch previously hidden to me
The plant gets excited and happy when a barry is picked
The bug is not to be feared or killed, but gently celebrated, for it facilitated in the creation of the beloved berrys
I will not allow myself to be bullied by sharp thicket and I will retrieve even the most protected barry

sorry but this is important. in a globalized world with more than enough food for all crop failures do not need to lead to starvation.
the world food program estimates it would cost about $40 billion to end global hunger for a year. less than a quarter of elon musk’s current net worth, or less than half of what joe biden has spent funding the genocide of palestinians.
even if there was not enough food to feed everyone, as may happen with climate change and ecological collapse, the choice of who does and does not eat will always be political. the distribution of power is the definition of politics, and that includes the power to eat.
remember that during the irish ‘famine’ ireland was a net exporter of food. it was the bread basket of england. it was only the potatoes that the irish relied on for subsistence that failed. and i’m pretty sure even the blight itself was political, a result of human monocultural farming practices. potatoes aren’t even native to ireland, or europe.

Have u heard about the flotillas departing now/soon for palestine
yes!!! i think everyone should learn about the freedom flotilla, which is setting sail for gaza very soon and needs to have eyes and ears on it, as israel has a long history of attacking, raiding and occaisonally killing humanitarian workers on aid ships to gaza, as they did in 2010 with the first freedom flotilla (because that's how long Gaza has been under siege)
here's an interview with journalist and lawyer dylan saba, who is setting sail on it and is a good person to follow to learn more about it:

and this is their website:
remember to follow and check #freedomflotilla on twitter in the coming days.

Y’know about notorious housing costs and homelessness situation in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, the Pacific coast of the US? In 2023, Portland and San Francisco are both moving forward with major multi-million-dollar projects to outlaw “street camping” while opening “city-run mass encampments.”
Tumblr media
The mayor, 14 April 2023:

San Francisco is site of arguably one of worst situations in the US, where thousands units are completely inaccessible, and people pay over $2000 a month to live in closets or dorm-style high-density shared rooms, and upscale coffee shops and restaurants require phone apps or payment receipts for people to access restrooms. The W!!pedia page “Homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area” is over 120,000 bytes in size and 12,000 words in length.
In April 2023, the city announces its grand plan: A “five-year plan” costing $600 million to “cut the number of unsheltered homeless in halve” in five years. So not a plan to put people in homes, but just to get them off the street, qualifying them as part of the strange designation of “the sheltered homeless” (they will still be homeless, but they won’t be “on the streets,” and will be “sheltered” by a city shelter or camp).
Get them out of sight, put them out of the way on an island or something:
Tumblr media
In 2022, the city estimated that over 20,000 people are homeless in a calendar year.
And that’s only within the formal city limits of San Francisco and doesn’t include the rest of the Bay Area (which contains millions more people in Oakland, San Jose, Richmond, etc.)

The rest of the Pacific coast?
In late 2022, Portland, its mayor, and its city council announced a major initiative to ban and outlaw “street camping”. Portland will simultaneously by opening “city-run encampments” or  “sanctioned mass homeless camps.” In early 2023, Portland begins this project:

One of the most popular homeless related questions on Q/uora, as if were a “valid question” about how “you must earn your existence through work”, and not a sickening disregard for life:

Hundreds of Jewish anti-war demonstrators have been arrested during a Passover seder that doubled as a protest in New York, as they shut down a major thoroughfare to pray for a ceasefire and urge the Senate majority leader, Chuck Schumer, to end US military aid to Israel.
The 300 or so arrests took place on Tuesday night at Grand Army Plaza, on the doorstep of Schumer’s Brooklyn residence, where thousands of mostly Jewish New Yorkers gathered for the seder, a ritual that marked the second night of the holiday celebrated as a festival of freedom by Jews worldwide.
The seder came just before the US Senate resoundingly passed a military package that includes $26bn for Israel.

UPDATE 4/11/2023:
I swapped out the colloidal silver nasal spray info for xylitol nasal spray info. I originally included colloidal silver spray because of the linked study and recommendation from RTHM, but I don't want to be pointing people toward something with notable health risks. Xylitol spray (Xlear) is also cheaper and more widely available!

You can donate to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund for as little as $1.00.
Tumblr media
There is a fee you can choose to apply to cover processing.
Tumblr media
Which if you choose to do leaves you with a total of ~$1.35 (USD) depending on the type of card you have.
Tumblr media
PCRF has a score of 97% on Charity Navigator.
Adults and children alike are currently dying in Palestine due to starvation. (World Health Organization Link)
The Gaza Strip is one of two places in the entire world that is categorized as Phase 5 (the highest phase) on the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification scale.
So even if you think it isn't enough, remember that donating even as little as $1.35 helps! It's $1.35 they wouldn't have had otherwise. So donate if you can. 🇵🇸

“masc privilege” obviously isn’t a real thing and anybody trying to say butch lesbians benefit from the patriarchy is a dumbass who shouldn’t be listened to. that being said, there are absolutely quite common environments & careers (engineers, working in a garage etc) where masculinity is often preferred & femininity further dismissed/rejected (even beyond the mainstream norm) even in regards to women. these things can both be true, it’s not difficult; femininity is obviously respected less than masculinity in a patriarchal society, but gender non-conformity and gender transgression are punished too. there is no “one size fits all” rule for how privilege works.
