btw supporting palestine is a basic decency. the most normal take is to be against genocide. like naturally. people should not be praised for supporting palestine when it's literally the moral and ethical stance to take. genocide is bad. i can't believe we have to explain that to people. genocide is literally bad. it is morally ethical to be against genocide. people shouldn't be praised for basic decency

With the year coming to a close, I decided to commemorate this adventure with some ink. It's a berber symbol for protection from evil eye. I'm really happy with how it turned out and what it means to me. So much for not liking permanent things. My last trip while living in Morocco, and I definitely saved the best for last, and what a way to do it. I shared this trip out to the desert with a van full of Mexican college kids on Erasmus to different parts of Spain, as well as some Uruguayan doctors. It was the right taste of home before going back. Leaving everything and everyone you know and love behind is never easy, even if it means being able to explore a world that is so completely different to your own. Living here has taught me to love and appreciate my people, and it taught me who my people are. Going away for a year does do a number on your relationships, after all. It has also taught me to be alone and enjoy being and traveling alone. It showed me that I don't need anyone else beside me to do and try as much as I want. It also taught me that dromedaries have one hump and that riding one will leave your crotch hurting for a while. And that sand gets fucking everywhere so just embrace it, dig your bare feet in and look up at the stars and realize that you are stardust, nyooming around the vastness of space and it is all just... Beautiful. (at Merzouga - Sahara Desert) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByfPh5chB6XEd2ZT3AQMlgrIG5mR4miGaaeVyM0/?igshid=18k6b193sbi11

Chefchaouen, Morocco - The Blue City This year living abroad has been an amazing experience. I've learned so much about the world and about other cultures, but mostly about myself. Some students pointed out yesterday that I travel a lot, and I told them how I've traveled more this year than in my entire life. A slight exaggeration, for sure, but at its core and at its essence its true. I have traveled more this year, and I've done most of it alone. Something I would have never dared to do without having thrust myself out of my comfort zone. After this weekend in Chefchaouen and Tangier (and possible Rabat) I have one more trip planned, and I think I saved the best for last. That being said, I miss my home. I miss my family and my friends. But mostly, I miss My Girl. (at Chefchaouene) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx5c675lPpKg7nD_svyAjjiGaKss3OXGx_auS00/?igshid=13n2r9o6xk4f0

I woke up 12 hours ago. Got ready as quick as I could, grabbed a bite of breakfast at the hostel and left to catch a train from Lisbon to Sintra. I had been looking forward to this day for a while now. Ever since I saw pictures of the Initiation Well in Quinta da Regaleira and the duck house in the Pena Park, I knew I needed to come here... And it did not disappoint. I hit the Quinta da Regaleira, Monserrate Palace, Cabo da Roca, the duck houses in Pena Park and the outside of the Pena Palace, where I got the most amazing, breathtaking view of Sintra and the one place I missed: the Moorish Castle. All in all, I call this a successful AF day. The Quinta and the Monserrate gardens filled me with so much good, positive energy and joy. I have never felt so in touch and at peace with nature. Today was perfect. https://www.instagram.com/diegoadeg/p/BvzibWwBB9w4_VVKdlPY3hwm7WJ05BxYajmrAc0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=13pmejsr462a2

Going off the beaten path can be off-putting or even downright scary at times. Granted, walking away for the large crowds and wandering around side streets, alleys and empty parks isn't so bad. Without going out of your way to go out of the way you'll miss out on hidden gems like this delicious all day breakfast toast - based restaurant. Take a chance, take the leap and find new adventures. (it's the Triple Madame, if you're wondering.) (at That's Toast) https://www.instagram.com/p/Br54QxahhjZBTJB7OFwypJ7t1mJrNyVzyh2-0I0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xjkzb1p5hu4o
