Macro Evaluation
For our macro project we had to choose a theme. At first I was going for a fruit and veg theme however felt this may have been popular amongst the class so decided to go for something a little different and chose silver. Before taking these photos I researched through google and Pinterest to find different macro shots similar to this. I had these beside me on the day of shooting to refer back to.
I really enjoyed taking the photographs the most. At first I used pins and struggled with this as I felt the I wasn’t getting any “wow” images so was a little put off by this. However when I persevered I managed to get some abstract photos with the pins and once I used different objects I really started to love the ideas I was coming up with and the images I was getting. I also struggled with getting the images sharp as the slightest move puts the image out of focus so it took a while to find the right focus.
Before using macro lenses for this project I hadn’t ever done anything like this before so I loved learning this new technique.
I used a 100mm 2.8 macro lens and a tripod.
I’d say my most successful images were with the can I used. I sprayed some water over it to change it up a little and get different types of shots.
Overall, I was very happy with how these images turned out and loved trying and learning this new technique (even though it look me a while to get into it).

The Big Idea
Our first day shooting Family Portraits in the Gorbals went well.
Shannon, had a great rapport with the families, Carol greeted them, took details and kept continuity, “Behind the scenes” shots showed Carol and Simone using those invaluable skills photographers need … puppetry and teddybear balancing.
