Asoiaf but with Arya Stark as Alice Roosevelt, running around causing absolute chaos while living in King's Landing. And when someone complains to Hand of the King Ned Stark, he says, "I can either run the seven kingdoms or I can attend to Arya, but I cannot possibly do both."

When Yoren had dragged her into that alley she'd thought he meant to kill her, but the sour old man had only held her tight, sawing through her mats and tangles with his dagger. — ACoK, Arya I
"That hair is a fright and a nest for lice as well. We'll have it off, and then you're for the kitchens." — ACoK, Arya VI
Lady Smallwood insisted that Arya take another bath, and cut and comb her hair besides — ASoS, Arya IV
The Hound had hacked handfuls of her hair off only two days past. He was an even worse barber than Yoren, and he'd left her half bald on one side. — ASoS, Arya X
The waif had shaved her head for her when they took her eyes; a mummer's cut, she called it, since many mummers did the same so their wigs might fit them better.  — ADwD, The Blind Girl
After that she found her razor. A bare scalp helped the wigs fit better, Izembaro claimed. — TWoW, Mercy
Of course, there are symbolic and thematic layers to Arya losing her hair more often than any other character in the books. But it's also pretty funny how almost every adult that has Arya in their care takes one look at her and immediately goes, "This child needs a haircut".

Arya and Sansa’s relationship is only normal if your older sister’s boyfriend tried to murder you and got your friend killed and she decided it was all your fault because she thinks you exist to ruin her life lmao
Like it’s so dumb that the Stark girls’ tense relationship is reduced to Sansa calling Arya ugly and not a single mention of the Trident incident and all the moments afterwards. That’s where the actual complication comes in! And it’s in Sansa’s very first chapter no less!
Sansa disregarding Joffrey’s violence towards Arya because she’s predisposed to think of her little sister as a lesser person who deserved his wrath is an important part of the plot, babes. Her being able to ignore Arya’s pain is quite literally why she still thinks of Joffrey as her sweet prince right up until her dad’s head got chopped
Why are we asked to not comprehend both girls’ chapters just because it makes your fave look bad 😭

Barefoot surefoot lightfoot, she sang under her breath. I am the ghost in Harrenhal.
X
she thought, I am a direwolf, and the ghost in Harrenhal. She put her broomstick back in its hiding place and followed him from the godswood.
Arya being the ghost in Harrenhal is a very underrated Arya/Lyanna parallel. As lyanna is also a remembered "ghost in Harrenhal".

I have seen too many people describe Baela and Arya as "masculine" but I don't think they are. They are not as traditionally feminine as their sisters, but that's a far cry from being "masculine". The thing is that Baela and Arya are children when described as such.
Baela and Arya are active and adventurous girls who like to wrestle, and ride horses and that don't care about getting dirty. They also seem to dislike things that are the ideal of femininity in Westeros like sewing and singing.
In Westeros gender roles are very rigid and willfulness is considered a masculine trait. Baela and Arya start the story by doing child things that don't fit into the Westeros ideal. I don't think they are "masculine" at all, I think they are just kids that don't fit in.

When we say that Arya was absolutely butchered as a character from the beginning, we mean it.

Maybe possibly controversial opinion but while Dany was definitely treated the worst in the adaptation, I don't think she was actually adapted the worst. Not in the earlier seasons at least.
I'm not saying she was adapted well even in those early seasons. Far from it. But she was adapted more accurately than Jon and Arya. Because they are honestly unrecognizable. I binged seasons 1-6 before reading the books and I honestly found them a little boring/too conventionally written. And then I pick up the books and it's like, "What? These two are amazing!"
asfdghadghoi The line that originally turned me off: "Most girls are idiots." Arya would never.

Obviously her skinchanging is going to help a lot in the spy work for the Long Night, but how will her training with the Faceless Men help? 100% serious question here - could she wear the face of an Other and live amongst them?
The less exotic things the Faceless Men have to teach will also be very useful to Arya.
“Learn three new things before you come back to us,” the kindly man had commanded Cat, when he sent her forth into the city. She always did. Sometimes it was no more than three new words of the Braavosi tongue. Sometimes she brought back sailor’s tales, of strange and wondrous happenings from the wide wet world beyond the isles of Braavos, wars and rains of toads and dragons hatching. Sometimes she learned three new japes or three new riddles, or tricks of this trade or the other. And every so often, she would learn some secret.
- Cat of the Canals, AFFC
She’s been taught how to get information from diverse sources.
She thought back on her day. “Quence and Alaquo had a fight and left the Ship, but I think that they’ll come back.”
“Do you only think, or do you know?”
“I only think,” she had to confess, even though she was certain of it. Mummers had to eat the same as other men, and Quence and Alaquo were not good enough for the Blue Lantern.
- Cat of the Canals, AFFC
And she’s being taught how to distinguish data from analysis. Note that nobody’s saying Arya’s wrong, only that the eventual return of Quence and Alaquo to the Ship is not something she knows. She’s learning how to get information, and she’s learning how to handle the information she finds. Those are skills every bit as valuable as learning how to change her face. More.

The Starks in my simple style. I wanted to draw the whole house, but I didn't want to make it too complex, so I drew them like this.
Tumblr media
It's probably the only time you'll see a Rickon Stark drawn by me because drawing such young children is a bit difficult for me.
Remember that you can make a request if you want, don't be shy.

Arya learned the Braavosi language and culture well enough to pass as someone "born and bred" there while interacting with actual native Braavosi, but I'm supposed to think she's going to have difficulty navigating Westerosi noble life...as someone who was actually raised as a Westerosi noble? The way you can tell that people don't think before they "theorize" about Arya will always crack me up
