Except the fact still remains you can’t use Hawks as evidence to Touya lying about Enji being a bad father, when he doesn’t even know what happened in the family situation because he isn’t a Todoroki and doesn’t know what is truth or not truth! The only thing Touya really lied about was BJ being dead, and then again he himself thought BJ was dead. Plus Touya didn’t lie to Natsuo and make like he was physically abused 🤨 we saw what he cried about to Natsuo and it wasn’t about being physically abused! Touya’s may have somewhat influenced Natsuo’s perspective, but Enji didn’t help when he reinforced the negative sentiments. Like yes Enji by far wasn’t a good father, and while he had good intentions when he stopped training Touya he went about it wrong, but he wasn’t the abuser from the start it was a spiral!

Sorry if this bothers you but I was surfing the net and re-watching/re-reading the Endeavor agency arc, and I remembered people getting so angry at Fuyumi for giving Enji Shouto’s information and how that crossed a boundary. I do sort of see what they mean with Shouto being his victim and he the abuser so it’s kind of nasty to give a victims information to the abuser BUT at the same time regardless of how horrible he was as a father he’s the parental figure they in general are meant to have information, and like Fuyumi is hardly unforgivable for giving information. I just felt it was unreasonable to hate on her for that, and like I definitely do agree that it was rude of Enji to bombard Shouto with calls and messages but still Fuyumi didn’t deserve the hate! Do you have any thoughts on this whole situation? Or have you talked about this situation before?

But basically, I agree that the Fuyumi-hate over sharing Shouto's LINE contact (which I think is like a Snapchat handle / separate from the phone number, which Endeavor obviously already knew considering he's paying for the bill) was way blown out of proportion.

Endeavor was already calling Shouto - so it's not like he didn't get a way to bug Shouto before.

Also, if you look at the timeline, the Joint Training arc takes place 3 days after the Endeavor vs Hood battle - 2 of which, Endeavor was in the hospital in critical condition. So it was on one of those three hectic / traumatic days where Fuyumi gave the contact info to Enji. Sure, it's Shouto's privacy - but it's not like he couldn't make a new ID if he wanted to.

Also, for me that played more like a gag scene - for Endeavor's "Shoto-itis" and how Shouto was still in his petty-phase, where he was ghosting / ignoring his dad. The Licensing Arc established that it was not a valid strategy if Shouto wanted to become a hero. He needed to face his feelings about his father.

And the JTA confronted him with the fact that he was starting to fall behind Bakugou and Deku because he was not using his fire at its full potential.

So all these feelings pushed Shouto over to make the decision to go train with Endeavor and have faith in himself that he wouldn't lose sight of who he wants to be. That's what the phone-ghosting scenes are about, and the fact that Endeavor had to beg Fuyumi to give him Shouto's contact or that he was texting like a grandpa were comic relief around a really serious situation: which is Shouto's decision to put himself through flashfire training a second time, after how traumatic it was during his childhood.

When I sent this ask, I was not referring to his treatment of Touya at all, and in fact was actually talking about his treatment of Shouto! You know the 5yr old child he was pushing through intense training, that was far too aggressive for his child, and was leading to exhaustion and vomiting even before Touya passed!

That was whom I was referring to when I said he was on the beginning of being an abusive, toxic man already.

Which actually brings me to this @erasurecloud - “I think Enji obsessed over training Shouto and trained him so much more intensely than Touya because of Touya’s ‘death’.” Which isn’t completely the case, we know from the time line that Rei scarred Shouto - Rei gets sent away - Touya dies! We see from Shouto’s flashbacks that Enji was already pushing him in intense training sessions, before Touya even died so he didn’t have that trauma just yet or that worry so he clearly wasn’t invoked by Touya’s death there! Obviously I’m sure the already aggressive/intense training got even worse after Touya did die, but he was already pushing Shouto through that! He was already on the cusps of being a toxic, abusive man, that happened before Touya’s death he was on the cusp of it before that trauma came! @erasurecloud
