o, hermes — luck-bringer with the
sly smile, joy-touched & ever-swift
god. my heart leaps, springing out
of the snares of this world in order
to follow your fleet-footed ways. you
drive away the troubles, bounding like
the hare out of the tightening wire.
& hidden in the corner of your wily
smile, i discover my own laughter —

Squiggly Hermes Time
My favorite part about being sick is having fever dreams about the Gods. It's funny as fuck sometimes because you can't always tell if it's a fever dream or if it was genuinely something the Deity actually sent to you. This was one of those cases for me.
Basically, Hermes was in a, like, thirty second dream I had, and I saw Him, on Olympus, walking next to me from this side. It almost looked like He was using the Time Warp filter from TikTok in my dream, so He looked something like this:
Suddenly, He stopped walking mid-stride and whipped His head to look at me, so now He looked like this:
Then my vision was suddenly blocked by a zoomed in golden coin that had His face printed onto it. I can't draw it, but it was very detailed, and He looked super handsome on the coin. It was definitely something professionally made.
Anyway, so after that, the coin disappears, and Hermes, making a sound that I genuinely cannot describe with human words, starts running at me like this, flailing His arms:
And that's Squiggly Hermes!
Enjoy!

I ache for Hermes, for he has seen every corner of the world
Every secret that has been hidden,
every face that has been covered , turned towards the dark ground in fear of connecting with another person
In fear of being seen
//
I ache for Hermes, for he carries you all
He has seen every person,
and valued every word
Kissed every face, and touched every heart
The always traveling, the always caring
//
A million people has walked before you,
and a million, in your foot steps, will come
You are one, no one, a pebble on the bottom of a well
But to him? You are seen
//
I ache for hermes, for he remembers every face, every love
I ache for him, and I always will
For my heart simply cannot, even though I try,
carry as much love as he can
My Beloved Hermes
