can’t criticize plastic surgery as an institution because it’s none of your business if a woman wants to “fix” her insecurities. can’t criticize the makeup industry or beauty standards because some women feel good when they shave and wear makeup. can’t bring up the challenges women face in the workplace because some women want to be stay at home wives instead of working. everything a woman does is automatically feminist and we shouldn’t stop to think about the context surrounding her actions because that would be misogynistic. here’s what i had for girl dinner. according to my girl math the barbie movie was a revolutionary piece of feminist media. i may not show it but i feel the life slowly draining from me day by day.

men are not and cannot be mysterious. they lack everything you need for that, for example anything interesting about them that can be uncovered or hidden. there are no depths to be discovered. if you think a man is mysterious
a) you‘re projecting
b) he is not
c) he is either boring or hiding his depravity. or both
mystify women! what does she have to say! what is she thinking! nobody knows! but i would sure like to uncover it because her mystique has enchanted me. you might be mystifying others as we speak

Convincing teenagers that their families hate them because they question their trans identity is pure evil. Identifying as trans automatically implies that you're unhappy with your body. Shouldn't any loving parent's instinct be to reassure their child that they're perfect as they are? Stop vilifying loved ones legitimate concern and stop making kids think their families want them dead. It's nothing but cruel fearmongering.

If you see a woman with short hair/no makeup/body hair/comfortable clothes/etc and immediately assume she’s Not a Woman, you’re regressive as hell by the way

A woman in her natural state of body (that is with no make-up, without shaving, etc) is not masculine.

The only behavior I wish women would copy from men is caring less about people's feelings. I am not talking about family or friends, but literally strangers screaming demands at us. One of the reasons why women's issues are so much more policed than men's is because we are so easy to guilt-trip. We care so much about being liked and seeing as good women that we are letting people step on us. It's time to have more pride and less forced empathy.

couldn't you just imagine a beautiful turn of events in which japanese animation never formed its death grip on the reclusive/weird/nerdy cohorts of young people outside japan at the turn of the century. couldn't you picture that sweet world free of weebs and pedophiliac nightmare-scapes and transgenderite idolatry. we could've had it so normal

Herd immunity is the idea that if enough people get immunized against a disease, they’ll create protection for even those who aren’t vaccinated. This is important to protect those who can’t get vaccinated, like immunocompromised children.
You can see in the image how low levels of vaccination lead to everyone getting infected. Medium levels slow down the progression of the illness, but they don’t offer robust protection to the unvaccinated. But once you read a high enough level of vaccination, the disease gets effectively road-blocked. It can’t spread fast enough because it encounters too many vaccinated individuals, and so the majority of the population (even the unvaccinated people) are protected.

how does a show released in 2024 fail harder in showcasing fully rounded female characters with flaws and strengths and rich personalities than a cartoon from the 2000s. why has television & film legitimately regressed across the years when it comes to showing women as human beings lmao

people make fun of the "oh you only hate her because she's a WOMAN" crazy feminist mentality but yeah actually you guys do only hate her because she's a woman a lot of times. for every hated female tv character there's ten male tv characters who are a million times worse and still given at least the "intriguing morally grey character" treatment if not straight up praise. for every hated female celebrity in real life there's one hundred famous men who have done worse and don't get half the hate she does.

So I constantly see people shit on second wave feminism, complain it was only for privileged women, was racist, etc etc. I think given everything going on, it’s a good reminder how much women’s rights and lives have changed thanks over the last 50 years thanks to second wave.
Do you like your right to abortion? 2nd wave feminism.
Do you sign legal or financial contracts as yourself without a man’s signature or special permission? 2nd wave feminism
Do you like being able to control your own money even if you’re married? 2nd wave feminism
That jobs can’t automatically disqualify women, require makeup or weight requirements, or fire you for becoming pregnant or being sexually active out of marriage.
Domestic abuse shelters, laws, and general awareness? No-blame and equal divorce? Equal rights to making decisions for your kids?
Women having a wide variety of jobs, being able to go to most colleges, get education, have sports teams, run in the freaking marathon?
Like no it wasn’t perfect, but most stuff that allows women to be independent financial and legal actors is thanks to second wave feminism. And that has helped all women a lot, to the point where I don’t think people can even conceive that it was different in our mother’s lifetimes.
