 There’s something in her gut telling her her word choices are actually rather trash, and rather than inquiring through sheer curiosity, it just seems like she’s on a mission to piss this woman off. But she’s not saying anything of it, nor reaction negatively so she couldn’t be doing that bad. Crazy how different this woman felt from other captains she’s spoken with/heart about/seen before. Her arms go to cross under her chest, head tilting to the side as she looks into the woman’s almost empty like eyes. Had she been slightly weaker, she’d probably avoid eye contact, but even now that look in her eyes makes a shiver want to crawl up her spine.

 ❝ Yer an interesting woman, Unohana.. Can’t say I’ve met someone like you before so you’ll have ta excuse my interest. ❞ Candice’s eyes lower just a bit, scanning the woman’s face for even a centimeter of expression to really find. Nothing. Not a furrow in her brows, not a twitch of the eye, lips, nose, nothing. It was just those empty-ish eyes that gave her any sort of unease.  ❝ But. ‘m not gonna hound ya ‘bout yer past, that’s just rude’a me. Plus… Th’fact that ‘m standin’ here and you haven’t even moved to grab yer Zanpakuto is clause enough fer me to chill. ❞

she can sense some sort of ‘ tense ‘ coming from the other’s direction, but this is the kind of situation she has grown used to through the many centuries of her long life. never truly bothered her, as she does fully understand the reasons as why someone feels cautious around her. all of them, justified.

unlike the person before the line of her vision, her limbs hardly move a muscle but her pale hands remain folded against her clothed stomach. call it an act of sheer confidence in her strength or arrogance, but she has yet to feel threatened.

at the sound of ‘ compliments ‘ though, the corner of her lips finally tug a ghost of a smile. is it an act of fear or admiration though ? she cannot tell, yet.

❝ why thank you for your kind words, miss. i ought to confess, most people would attempt to avoid talking about this part of my life than admire it like you seem to do. ❞ which is . . strange to say the least. her personality is not to be celebrated, not even by the shinigami of her generation, especially. 

how can a quincy, of all people, call her interesting ? 

so odd, she muses in brief silence.

plotted starter for @thousandblossoms​ ! !

no matter how many times she found herself wandering through the large halls of the k.uchiki manor, she could never manage to navigate herself without getting lost just a little bit. 

although the visits she used to perform in the past were not . . for positive reasons, this one is special. every once in a while she would be receiving an invitation for a tea session with the head of the famous noble clan himself. meetings somewhat personal, for the very purpose to speak their minds undisturbed. 

the smile upon her visage inspires genuine warmth and gratitude as she casts a last glance at the direction of the servant. thankful for the assistance she had received in order to reach the destination, a room spacious enough to fit more than just two people. 

now, all she has to do is to wait in silence.

well, for the first — she used to have this sort of, ‘ twisted perception ‘ of beauty that comes from the thrill of the battle. the whole process of fighting to death, the emotions both combatants portray through the whole process, from confidence to doubt and agony . . . she really loved that. when a face is like a canvas showing so many emotions at once before danger, that is something beautiful to her no matter what. the enemy could have any kind of appearance, she could care little as long as they have a very expressive face before her blade.

back to less . . . morbid ideas —

u.nohana is never the ‘ extravagant ‘ person when it comes for physical appearance like, she rarely does the extra step to change something about her in order to feel beautiful ( i mean, she is as plain as it gets so that says something - ). it’s a matter of confidence but at the same time, she really does find beauty in the most simple of things and people. she appreciates feminine behavior a lot, but she does not mind it when someone lacks this specific trait or manners for that matter. 

lot’s of swear words might have her frowning a little though.

/ i will never understand the idea of uno failing to find a reason to live other for the title of the k.enpachi alone. she has built so much in SS, brought so many people back to life and yet, she was ‘ tired of fights ‘ and had ‘ nothing else to give ‘ as if all these people around her meant nothing to her.

her ego and obsession with the title seems so massive, she really chose DEATH over being defeated. 

i do not believe her gentle demeanor is a product of a ‘ fake persona ‘, she really does care for those she protects and the man who has to take her name. it’s just that what she had was never enough. never meant to become a ‘ normal ‘ shinigami. 

she helped so many, but no one could truly help her in return.

the recurring emotions of fear and stress the members of 11th division tend to have whenever they stumble upon u.nohana under 4th division’s barracks have their roots by the old, iron rule she used to bestow upon the specific division ( she created ) which was one and only;

‘ no one is allowed to return defeated against an enemy. the punishment, is death. ‘

even if she is not an active captain of the 11th anymore, the rule, whether inactive or not, has yet to be forgotten completely so the survivors tend to feel extremely anxious around her or keep their defeats as a secret.

#/ this rule also applies to herself thus why she kept living in guilt after her defeat against young z'araki. #/ the so - called ' sin '. #/ hence the guilt she feels because z'araki is putting himself in shackles for her and for wrong reasons. #/ apathy aside - she cannot stand the fact that she survived that day. #▌✽ ▌; headcanons.

i headcanon u.nohana’s recruitment to gotei 13 as y.amamoto’s wish alone. 

quite in fact, the majority of the ‘ soon to be ‘ captains did not want her around due to grudge, lack of trust and so on.
