I think one of the reasons I love weddings and fashion is partly because of my mother's love for all of it. She was a single mom with 3 younger kids and going to college later in life studying fashion. I remember one time she gave us a paper doll book and said dress my doll how I wanted. She is a creative whiz with fabric and sewing machine. Plus being born in the '50s this was something she did as a kid and wanted us to experience the same thing. Who enjoyed their weekend??? I had a great weekend and spent some quality time with family in Las Vegas but I also had a wonderful time last week. I got to say my 2019 is shaping up quite nicely. I've had the opportunity to refresh my brain on basics that are very important and help evolve and develop my brand to new heights in my new market. Last week I had a lot of "ah hah" moments while attending #WPPI this year and I am so full of happiness with all the new knowledge, new friendships and new opportunities I took away from going this year. My favorite was the mentor sessions which is a smaller group of creatives and it kind of was like having a therapeutic session with a mentor/speaker and they give constructive criticism to help our brands. (It was great meeting you and thank you again, mentors, @editorsedge @weddingsbyqay @petronellaphotography @paulvonrieter). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So it's back to real life this week. Operation move to New Jersey has been completed and we are onto unpacking this week. It's an exciting week folks!! So just a fair warning, if anyone is wondering I may or may not be as active on social media in the next few weeks during my move to New Jersey. This weekend I will be going to Las Vegas for #WPPI2019 and to hang with family and friends until March 5th. Then fly out to our new home. Do you have plans for Valentine"s day? Who needs a dose of beach life today? ME! 🙋🏻‍♀️ ME! 🙋🏻‍♀️ ME! Let's get really real. Since becoming a mom, life is crazier now then when I was single. So many highs and lows its hard to remember who you were before and why you did so many stupid adults things before this tiny human came. LIke why did I go on that trip? That was a waste of money. For reals why did I need that many clothes and shoes!!! I love our son and for a 2.5-year-old he's very opinionated and independent. which I'm sure will come handy when he's older but for now, it has been a battle. Here are a few examples: •Hey, son let's not jump off the couch with that toy because you might... Oh never mind you did it and look your crying. •Ok, we need to cross the parking lot stay close to me so cars don't squ... Crap you seriously just ran away from me. •How about we sit closer to our plate of food so it doesn't go... yup that just went all over your clothes and on the floor that is carpet. •Son the banana is not shampoo •Boogers need to go in tissues, not your mouth •Are you taking a bath or washing your hands? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With so many household duties and personal stresses, I need to make a trip to the beach like every week to cleanse the negative crap I've bottled up and it wouldn't hurt to take a hot yoga class or a kickboxing class. So my point is don't forget about YOU. Self-love or me time is an essential thing for parents to stay sane. Find the thing you enjoy doing by yourself and do those things that help blow off stress. Happy Friday and first of the month wonderful people!!! I hope you guys have all stayed warm this week. I know it was a cold one for most of you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ok, so let's get right to it and talk about the wedding exit. Its been a long day of prepping, pictures and partying with your closest loved ones. You want to have one last hurrah before you leave. So what to do? There a quite a few ways to leave and we've all seen the sparkler exit, the car exit maybe even a horse-drawn carriage or you just said goodbyes but not often enough do we get to see streamer cannon exit. It can be startling for the little ones or guest with noise sensitivity and you have to get permission from your venue since they have to clean it up (pro tip: streamers are easier to clean up than bits of confetti) but if those are not an issue you should totally look into doing them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Here are a few things to get you started:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 🧨 Get a few cannons that can be placed along an exit path⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - ↗️ Point them upwards in the air at a slight angle and NOT at the guest⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 🎗 Metallic streamers are a great choice ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 🎤 Have the DJ prep the guest where to go⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 💑 The Newlyweds slowly walks down the middle (you only get one chance to make it a good one)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 😁 Don’t forget to smile for the camera! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ - 🎉 BOOOOM!!
