the phrase "why? well, it's a sex thing for me" is always on the tip of my tongue and one of these days it's going to slip free with catastrophic consequences
I hate how the term "triggered" has been watered down and basically turned into a meme term when it's something serious and getting triggered in my experience is not very fun.
For someone who didn't normally write mysteries, Sir Terry Pratchett wrote a hell of one in Feet of Clay. I read a lot of books in the mystery genre because it feels good to my brain when things all fit together and make sense at the end. So this quote has been stuck in my head forever, because this moment exists in all of the best mystery stories:
This is it, he thought. This is where we've filled ourselves up with so many questions that they're starting to overflow and become answers.
--- Feet of Clay, Terry Pratchett (internal monologue of Sam Vimes)
It's such a lovely moment, this turning point, when the narrative holds its breath. Everything is about to start clicking into place.
i think it shld be more widespread for ppl to read aloud to each other as a means of spending time together. like even just a bunch of adults sitting together reading wikipedia articles or something
a lot of people assume psychosis hallucinations are super intense all-consuming horror movie shit like the memes about the hat man or always horrible debilitating things that make you dangerous to be around
but in my experience 95% of my hallucinations are getting spooked by very clearly hearing someone knocking on my door or calling my name from another room or hearing footsteps walking behind me which are "just" my brain recreating the horror of an abusive childhood
i *have* gotten the "bugs crawling all over me" hallucination once or twice though and yeah that one is exactly as terrible horrible as it sounds AUGH
If you ever feel like your whole purpose in life is to just follow people around and annoy them to death, always remember that a human being is a persistence predator.
So even if you weren't born to do that, you're still hardwired to be really, really good at it.
im getting into tanking in wow because i love nothing more than having internet strangers scream dumbly at me while i simply say the words “seething” and “cope” to them
