Is it possible to be a queer heterosexual?
To most people, the terms, “queer” and “heterosexual” are polar opposites. This doesn’t mean that they cannot get along, or share similar ideals. I myself identify a lot with the queer community although I am a heterosexual. 3 of my best friends are in same sex relationships. I am taking a class to help better understand the queer community because I still feel a bit excluded as a heterosexual. There are terms and names that I am not allowed to use in the queer community. I fully support same sex rights and the plight that has been happening over the past 50 years. Queer people are not any less of human beings than heterosexuals, and I don’t know why people (like our Vice President) would think that. These reasons above are why I feel that it is possible to be a queer heterosexual. Some people still might say I am not a true member of the queer community, but I feel that I am, and I am happy with that.
