Thank youu! Honestly the design phase and character plotting goes hand and hand for me so the designs influence the plot and vice versa.... but for designing, the best thing I found for myself (besides silhouette + color palette) is that it rides a lot on working off whatever will give hints about either the OC's personality or story.

If they walked into a bar you should be able to get a vibe of them from across the room. Like letting the audience guess about their history, if that makes sense.... This is my general rule of thumb... (Honestly I love Red Springs Studios so much because they've shown to be so incredibly good at this, it's honestly inspiring)

For Naud for example the first thing is his face and the branding on his forehead, where did that come from? Next his right arm is bound up and hangs loosely, what's the deal with that? Little details that sparks curiosity!

Another thing that helps the creative process for me is matching things that I normally don't see paired often...

Dark and gloomy guy? Okay give him long pigtails and explain it through the plot!

Mainly boils down to knowing your character enough or trusting the process enough to let it guide you to be flexible enough to mess around till something sticks visually and narratively.

Also, when in doubt, ✨belts✨

You're probably gonna hear Leander singing by himself when you happen into the crypts and find his fucked up side hustle....

Mhin probably is more comfortable with Kuras because they are self isolating themselves due to their monster from possibly taking out those they loved before, and Kuras (other than being kind to them) doesn't ask follow up questions and is more of an observer so there's a natural boundary that they don't have to stress over. They probably dropped Leander even though they liked him because he crossed that boundary....

Vere probably knows what's wrong with the world and is going to tell MC if they help break him out, but Kuras is probably going to stop this from happening in an attempt to chase after/"save" MC and because he's the one who maybe sorta kinda put Vere in the hands of the Senobium in the first place.

Kuras is going to have to watch his fall over and over again as punishment, and this time it's Leander. He's going to have to watch Leander's downfall unable to stop it and knowing he's possibly the cause of his darker ambitions... Kuras has already failed redemption this go around, and Eridia is probably going to fall.

Ais needs a hug.

Mhin is just like Mc so the question is the same that Mc has, how far are they willing to go?

To add to this Mhins monster form looks like its literally melting! The bottom image on the bottom left i think has a spine. If their form is dissolving this could add a time limit and sense of desperation to their route.

I keep seeing all the Leander theories, about what he is, and I understand the appeal of them, but I cannot overstate how much I hope all of you are wrong.

I desperately want Leander to be the human he appears to be. He is just some guy, a regular dude, there should be nothing inherently horrifying about his nature.

But his choices. He should be making choice, after choice, after choice. And that should be the reasons monsters look at him and say, "that is not a good man."

leander isn't "weak" for having 2 as his strength stat, it sounds just about right for 'humans' like him and mhin (who... yeah). it's just that kuras, ais, and vere set really high baselines to compare to, considering what they are. why would you compare a millenia-old angel's strength to a human mage's? leander's muscles probably aren't for show, is what i'm getting at. he just doesn't compare to the former three, but he has his forbidden magic.
