Stefán Karl in All Dogs go to Heaven

The movie "All Dogs go to Heaven" was first dubbed in Icelandic and published by Bergvík in 2001. It was titled "Allir hundar fara til himna" in Iceland.

The main actors who were credited are Þórhallur Sigurðsson, Steinn Ármann Magnússon, Helga Braga Jónsdóttir and Stefán Karl Stefánsson, who voiced various characters.

A volcano had erupted on Stefán Karl's birthday

Yesterday's post was about a translation and archival to a Facebook that Steinunn Ólína made on the occuasion, you can read it here!

In the post, she mentioned asking for an eruption for the occuasion from him and a few hours later a dormant volcano erupted in Iceland!

Earlier today, actress Steinunn Ólína Þorsteinsdóttir published a heartfelt post on her Facebook page where she remembers her husband, Stefán Karl Stefánsson, who died after a difficult battle with cancer in 2018. Stefán Karl would have turned 48 today.

Stefán Karl's battle with malignant bile duct cancer lasted for two years, the couple talked openly about the illness. Stefán Karl himself was a great fighter against bullying, since he founded, among other things, the organization Rainbow Children.

Stefán Karl was best known for his portrayal of the unlikable Robbie Rotten, who lived a good life within the walls of the children's story about Lazytown by Magnús Scheving, and he graduated from the Icelandic Drama School in 1999.

Together, Stefán Karl and Steinunn Ólína had two children, but before that she had two daughters. It is safe to say that the nation has cried with Steinunna Ólína at the death of Stefán Karl, who was a perennial source of joy. In the post she published this morning, she says:

It seems that Stefán Karl made Steinunn Ólína's wish come true, because a few hours later, as is now well known, a volcanic eruption began near Reykjanes. Subsequently, Steinunn Ólína published a new post on Facebook where she simply writes: "Thank you my Stebbi!"

Happy 48th birthday to Stefán Karl🌟!!

I've been working on this idea since the start of the year, I drew all the characters individually which made me notice just how much they look like stickers, which gave me another idea!

I've decided to open a Redbubble to sell these designs as stickers as well as many other products!

I'm planning on donating 50% of the sales to a charity or organization or fundraiser in Stefán Karl's name!

Once I make enough in a month or so, I'll be making posts showing how much I've gained and to where I donated it to ^^

I'll also be uploading more designs with time and showing them here!

I'm going to translate a series of articles that Stefán Karl wrote for the news website of Kvennablaðið, unfortunately Kvennablaðið has been discontinued and the site no longer exists.

But thankfully, the articles that Stefán Karl wrote were archived on archive.org and as a way to archive them further, I'm going to translate all of them.

Something to note first, while the text is intact, a lot of the images weren't archived properly so they're lost, I'm also going to leave some misspellings as is in the articles just for the sake of archiving.

I will never forget the night on Hverfisgatan. Bar 46. It was in the June of 2012. One of my best friends and colleagues, Chad Jason, took hold of me, kissed me and pressed himself against me. I was saying goodbye to him for the last time, but I didn't know any better than that we would meet again in autumn just as last autumn when we started our work in the play of the Grinch.

There he made me up every day and brought me into the role, sometimes several times a day. Then we'd look deep into each other's eyes many times a day.

But when I looked in front of him that night, his eyes were full of tears, he had never shown me so much emotion before, he had never really shown me when he was depressed or sad. If something went wrong he laughed and smiled, made fun of it all. When he got angry, he was quick to put things in a different context, make a mockery of himself and make someone laugh and think that everything was fine.

Chad Jason died in October 2012, alone at a hospital in Queens, New York, after refusing treatment for a disease that plagued him. When he finally fell into a coma and his strength dried up, the doctors were able to start the treatment and give him a cocktail of injectable medicine, but by then it was too late.

He didn't need to die, he could have kept going, he could have continued to live life but he chose not to.

Why, we never get to know for sure, but he had already told me many things, told me what had driven him in his day.

He had already told me how his mother made him eat out of the trash at home when he was little, how the siblings had to pee in a bucket in the yard because she didn't have time to pay the water bill, that his siblings had to steal food as to not starve and later how his sister and brother rejected him because of his homosexuality.

He also told me about how his sister later became a psychologist for homosexual couples and tried to reconcile with him. He told me he couldn't love anyone, how he has no respect for himself and how he works around the clock so as not to have to listen to his thoughts - because then he always heard those voices of the past that told him that he was not free to love anyone he wanted.

Good make-up artists become one's best friends, psychologists. The first people you meet when you come to work in the theater and those who leave the theater with you in the evening.

The make-up artist reads you immediately, shocks you or calms you down, depending on what you need when you step into the theater from the whirlpool of reality outside the theater.

It can be compared to having a lover which you can tell everything to and that tells you everything. We trusted each other, and during the thousands of hours we spent together in closed locker rooms across the United States, I heard his stories, stories that I am only now able to put into context. I don't think it's fair when I think back and the more I think about it, the more I hear him repeat the same things over and over again. Maybe I'm only now listening to him.

Now I understand why and much better how important it is for us to come together, all as one, and to support diversity.

Now I understand so much better what it means when Páll Óskar sings "I am as I am" and now I understand how important it is when we walk together today and listen to each other and hear what we say, loving, hand in hand.

Chad was like that lover, the lover I needed then and I love him for what he really wanted to be but never got to experience.

I loved him as himself, this wonderfully beautiful drag queen he wanted to be with the gold and silver feathered wings that rose to the sky in the final tone of the night queen. Unforgettable as a national hero, the Argentinian Evita Peron.

In heaven, the audience stand around his soul, I'm sure. They shout:

"Bravo Chad, you are beautiful, beautiful like a bird of paradise."

Chad, I love you.

As I have promised in my annocument post around the beginning of the month, I and a friend of mines that I have known for a year now, have worked together to finally give y'all a gift this 2022 Christmas!

As the video says, me and @theabstractwoman have found three rare slime tutorials with Stefán Karl as the Grinch! One video and two audio recordings all dating from his performance in 2009!

I have been searching for them since 2017 and the great @theabstractwoman has helped me more than enough with finding it and I am grateful for them as it was one of the missing pieces of my overall Stefán Karl collection and I want to archive it for others to find easily as well 🙏✨

Lazytown park in IMG world

I was able to visit IMG world again late September and I got to take more photos, but more importantly. There was a specific attraction I wasn't able to record in the first video I made of the Lazytown park there. Which you can watch here!

There was an attraction called "Stephanie's Dance Academy" which is a dance game made by "Attraktion! GmbH". It's kind of like the Just Dance version of Lazytown. It captures the movement of your hands while dancing.

There's more information added in the video as well as bonus content at the end. The quality isn't the best out there and I do apologize for that.

Otherwise, here are more photos I took while I was there! Last time I was there the "Sportscandy Station" was closed down for some reason, back then they sold healthy snacks but now they're mostly selling sweets like ice cream, cupcakes and popcorn.

Sportacus's smaller airship, it's just a statue that you can get inside of and pose in, in the original video the statue had a missing steering wheel that they added back.

these are mostly traced from the official character stills! it's been a while since i drew the gang so i had to start over with getting a feel of the characters; made stephanie a little less moe than when i drew her last year, since she'd look weird next to the other two

Perhaps Glanni simply uses it the way a backflap was intended- so one could pop a squat without the need to remove all of their clothes in super cold weather. Glanni's suit is kind of a mix between a Catsuit and a Union suit. A lot of spy-like or theif characters wear Catsuits. I remember seeing old cartoon characters wearing Union suits with their crap flaps malfunctioning. He wore the heels as both Glanni and Rikki and I thought those were just meant to emphasize his height although they certainly look good. What I'm trying to say is that the outfit probably wasn't intended to be sexy but it happened anyway.
