When in transit...
Serra was following the large Hrothgar closely. He was holding a large box with a “Medical” label. The Lalafell was rummaging through numerous papers and mumbling.
“Ishgard authorities authorization – check, Permit to travel – check, Gridania permit to transit medical herbs – check, Permit to hire mercenaries – check, so check check triple check I think we are good to go.”
The Hrothgar turned around quickly, startling the Lalafell. “Boss, we’ll be fine we got ‘Lee and the two mercs will be here shortly! … We’ll be fine right?” he asked then, sheepishly.
Serra smiled up at him, patting his knee softly. She did look nervous, but not as much as he was. “Hey, Theo, we’ll be fine, it’s just a transit, no one knows what’s in the boxes, we will be fine, it’s fine! We’ll be fine.”
A sharp whistle came from the carriage in front of them. A small Miqo’te with brown skin and hair, and wearing a gorgeous black fur ankle length coat was staring at the two of them. It would’ve been a dreamy sight, if not for the long sniper on her shoulder. “Theo, I just briefed the two dumdums we’re good to go. Boss, Chocky‘s waitin’ for ya so we can get goin’. “ She then turned to two clearly confused Hyurs trying their best to look like hardened mercenaries. It wasn’t really working. “You two, you’ll sit on the back and anything that even -moves- funny you tell me I take care of it. Theo, you sit in the middle on the box. Got anything to add?”
Both Serra and Theo gulped audibly and shook their heads quickly. “Why is your sister’s so bossy?” asked Serra. “She gets snappy when she’s nervous.” A quick glance was exchanged as they took their places. Serra cleared her throat and turned to the group now behind her and raised a hand to speak.
“Alright everyone this will be a clean, no fuss around, transit from the Otter Gatherers to The Laughing Fox in Ishgard, we will be taking the Airship so you will need to transfer the five crates on it. That is five, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I have all the papers, if someone stops you, you send them to me ok? And you keep an eye on those crates at all, time. I mean all, the fucking time is that ok you two in the back?”
The tallest Huyr raised a hand. “What’s in those boxes?”
If a look could kill, the poor man would’ve been death on the spot by ‘Lee’s. Serra just took a deep breath and said “Need to know basis. And you don’t need to know.”
Everyone nodded and thus began the long trek to Ishgard.
