Hey guys~! Omar has reached out to me and trusted me with his story.

He's a 20 year old university student from North Gaza, whose studies were cut short by the horrific genocide. He and his family have had to evacuate their home, and they've unfortunately had to relocate over 8 times due to constant Israeli bombardment. Which means, they've had to keep uprooting their tent and their belongings.

There's no stability in their lives, only the threat of starvation and disease, and the fear that they could lose their lives at any moment due to Israeli raids or airstrikes. It's a life of unimaginable indignity. They have also lost a lot of their body weight due to food scarcity and lack of drinkable water.

He also has an elderly father who is suffering with illness and the conditions and lack of resources do not allow for him to be treated. They need to get him out of Gaza through the Rafah border as soon as possible, once the border is open again.

Omar wants to be able to save his life and his family's and continue his studies, because despite his young age, he wants to be able to take care of and provide his family after they've lost everything they have. It has been completely destroyed by this genocide.

Fundraiser for the Palestinian family of a University of Buffalo student

Mohammad Shadi, Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering at Al-Aqsa University, Gaza, Palestine… dreamed of a safe future for my family. And save them from the genocide that we are experiencing in the Gaza Strip. Despite this war that I have been living in in Gaza, as a result of the devastating war that has been going on for more than 5 months, I adhere to my aspirations. I have set my sights on a scholarship that could change the stream of my family’s life. I actually obtained a grant from IIE-SRF…as a visiting researcher, and I have a hosting offer from the University of Buffalo to get out of the cycle of war and conflict that is sweeping my country, especially after my university was completely destroyed. I see this research grant as not only an opportunity to continue my academic and research work, but also as an opportunity to save my family of 9 members, including my father, and my mother, and to preserve their lives from death as a result of the missiles and continuous bombing.

Hey, so one of my coworkers at my job just quit this week and management off loaded all their hours on to me bc our department is short staffed

I now have multiple full shifts this week with no food for lunches! I've been skipping meals at work due to lack of funds and my body really can't take it anymore! I need to be able to feed myself.
