There is not one bone of politically conservative in me, but when I saw some paintings from Jannik Hösel (painted in 2022) it reminded me that I am somewhat culturally conservative in certain ways. For instance, read any of the literature classics and you will notice how much people were concerned in the past about others' feelings, even the smallest things that would be insanely laughable to anyone living now at a late capitalism stage.

There is a very big reason to it: Social Darwinism and the survival of the strongest. People can't afford to be sensitive when they have to make money. People have almost completely lost sensitivity in a society where you have to have thick skin in order to survive. Well, people like Jannik don't want thick skin and he wants to take 2 months + more to achieve these old master like paintings in a society where you need to make money now and fast. It's not that I don't appreciate abstraction, the avant-garde, and the modern, it's just that art has lost a lot of feeling.
