This time, though, Mordred was none of those things. This time, he was just tired; exhausted to the bone. He wasn’t supposed to be talking with Vivian without Father present…

But the Saber couldn’t bring himself to care, in that moment. Somehow, he managed the ghost of a small, crooked smile. “And you’re here to finish the job…?” As he spoke, he pulled out his lighter, beginning to flick it open and closed; a stim he didn’t have the wherewithal to do anything about.

…Perhaps he was wretched, after all, this time.

((Some thoughts I've been thinking, kind of abstract. But I remembered that King Lot (aka Mordred's legal/stepfather) was King of both Lothian (a province encompassing most of what's now southeastern Scotland, including Edinburgh), and the Orkeny Islands. Which them made me wonder if he might've actually been King of the majority of Scotland, or just somehow two completely separate areas, one in the southeast and the other in the northeast? I know it's more-or-less plausible, but it's still odd to think about, for some reason.))

"...You wanna talk about it, or...?" Seated backward in a chair, with his arms folded over the back, Mordred had his chin settled on his arms. Expression placid, the shorter blond watched the King of Heroes systematically polish off said ten bottles of wine. There was a time when he would've joined in, but he was working on recognizing and respecting boundaries; his Father's disapproval of him drinking was one such boundary. Instead, the Knight just provided the wine, and an ear to listen if Gilgamesh wanted. Shifting to prop an elbow on a knee, and then his chin in his palm, the Saber's expression remained much the same. "You don't have to, just. I'll listen, if you do." He was doing this... 'considering other people's feelings' thing right, right?

...Maybe he should ask da Vinci for more specifics...
