A way I've phrased it before is this:

Republicans are shit but this is misinformation. The original tweet is from Feb 2023 and there's no evidence provided. I couldn't find any bills put forth that does this. Maybe someone can provide one and I'll be proven wrong but until then it's important to reiterate:

Misinformation that agrees with you is still misinformation. It is still harmful. Check your sources. We all wish conservatives would stop falling for bullshit but we have a responsibility to also not fall for bullshit.

I've seen posts going around claiming that petting animals is basically tricking them into thinking they're being groomed, and it's bugging me because, like, there's no trickery afoot. Petting and scritching are grooming activities. They help to dislodge loose fur and foreign objects and more evenly distribute protective oils, among other things. Primates are social groomers, and the human impulse to scritch is the legacy of our primate ancestors. We see an animal we like, even a dangerous one, and the monkey brain says "groom that thing".

Whether you think they get married post canon or not (they do), wild horses couldn’t keep Julian frontier-medicine Bashir from going to help rebuild Cardassia.

I 100% think this was all planned by the prophets. It had to be that exact moment with those exact people. (We’re just missing the Romulans, really. Bit of an oversight.)

And then they left Kira there to oversee it all, and maintain those relationships, Kassidy to build his temple according to his specifications, and Jake to tell the story.
