I honestly expected Mazey to be a big point of tension for Riz and Fabian this season. I thought she was gonna be used for a "best friend feels abandoned by the other" dilemma. She wouldn't be doing it purposefully, but it would still revolve around her. Seeing how passive that relationship ended up being was a little disappointing, only because I thought more could've been done with it.

Let me clear: I don't hate Mazey! She's obviously a very good natured character, and she has a fun dynamic with Fabian! I just wanted more to be done with her ya'know?

sorry to be an annoying shipper buttttttt there is something maybe kinda angsty about fabriz this episode like. murph's yucked out faces while mazey was riding on the back of the hangman and when fabian said he was gonna lose his virginity to her. like obviously riz's aceness has been a thing for a long time but something about the way he reacted to mazey on the hangman specifically idk... I really felt a pang in my heart like.... that's his thing. fabian and the ball, best friends....

Rewatching last weeks fight (cause I was only half paying attention the first time), and I know people have talked about this already.....but!!! When Riz says they need people on canons, Fabian exasperatedly goes "I've got it, The Ball." Like yes he's annoyed but it's because he's not worried about Riz! Except it's not because he doesn't care about Riz, it's because he's so confident Riz can handle things!!! I also like to think it's a lil bit like "You think I'm not gonna make sure you're good??? C'mon The Ball." And then shortly after when Riz has to do a Concentration check Fabian goes "You can do this The Ball." Just!!! The way Fabian uses "The Ball" in so many ways and contexts, and the fact that, again, Fabian is the only Bad Kid who still uses that nickname!! Augh!! True Battle Couple ™️ energy, you love to see it <3
