My brother in law commissioned a garden-statue sized manticore for his mom & I had NO idea how huge he'd end up being (my spatial reasoning is terrible for an art professional) when I said I'd make him 5" tall...but also I love him he is my special little big beefy boy!!!! He will definitely NOT eat any of your fingers, he promises!!!!

He's off to the kiln (after a thicker-than-usual coat of clear glaze since he'll be an outside beast) on Monday & I'm excited to see him in his Final Form!

OK! I've been meaning to start posting again on this blog for...weeks now & am finally getting around to it, mostly because I'm REALLY jazzed about my most recent batch of ceramic weirdos who went off to the kiln for their final firing today!

I can't wait to see how they turn out, especially a few of the harpies that got an assortment of colour glazes instead of my usual underglaze/clear glaze on top method. If they work out, it's going to be hard to stop myself from buying 5 zillion more glazes (dangerous)!

These guys won't be up in my shop for a few weeks yet (still need to do a gold lustre fire for a bunch of 'em), but I'll definitely post them in their fully-fired glory before that!

Sometimes I think about the Guericke-Einhorn and smile- It's so goofy! Anyway- What if it were a critter? Here's what I came up with!

Not a Bionicle thing (although I did use parts from the Enhanced Mata pack for the shoulders), but I've been rotating infamous 1600s paleo-crime the Magdeburg Unicorn in my mind for the past few days, so I made a physically-impossible Lego version (with a random minifigure for scale).
