I was really feeling the surreal aesthetic with this one. It kind of reminded me of one of my favorite older drawings from an Inktober long past, and I just went with it. I love how bright it is, the cute colors I ended up with, and I really enjoyed combining prompts again🥰
capybaras have been on argentine news lately because they’ve “invaded” a rich private neighborhood (built on the capybara’s natural habitat) and the memes are good
Made a muslin for a Frankenstein romper today. Altered some wide legged shorts to wrap shorts and put a wrap top on for a wrap romper. Clearly needs some more space in the crotch and maybe a bit more width in the shorts, but not bad for an afternoon’s work. The plan is to make it from some rayon challis I’ve got lying around and I need to find a good lining/contrast fabric for the ties and stabilizing the bodice. I will also probably add flutter sleeves to the final garment as well.
2 ounces of gulf coast native, combed lock by lock to open them up and remove vegetation, spun into a single on my wheel, then wound into a center pull ball and plied from both ends. 186 yards and 1.3 ounces of lace weight. the fluff in the last picture is the waste from carding--it couldn't be used in this skein because I was spinning specifically from the cut end of the lock, but I'll clean it up and blend it with something else later.
