"Come on," Buffy says. "Let's talk about it."

There's a small, younger version of Faith that senses this might be a trap and she feels that urge again to run. But Buffy's expression does not seem to be towing that line between love and hate at all. Sure, there's a barely concealed eye roll when Faith doesn't move toward the bed, but Buffy is also looking at her with concern. Faith feels, for the first time, the freedom of someone being mad at her and knowing they're not going to hurt her. She feels the freedom of being frustrated with someone and not wanting to hurt them. So Faith drops her shoulders, unclenches her fists, and walks over to the bed.

Beth isn't a saint. The squad is tough on the fetuses, she still tortures Tacy here and there, and she ignores Addy, but she realizes she can use her powers for good, and that she and her friends feel infinitely higher amounts of loyalty to each other when there isn't a secret hanging over their heads.

Something still happens when Queen B is around, but the things that happen tend to be fun. More time by the factory, just Beth, RiRi, Brianna, and Cori. More parties that don't end with guns or...worse. More time together after practice. Less lying. Less secrets. Less games. 

And Jennifer is proud of her when she finally does these things. Realizes these things. Beth laughs to herself toward the end of one of her sessions and Jennifer looks up from writing.

"What is it?" She asks.

"Who would've thought I'd get here," Beth says, half to herself, but she notices Jennifer lean forward and give her a sincere smile.

"Beth, I never doubted it for a second."

Kate walks over to Mallory's bed like she's afraid to startle her and sits on the floor beside it, grabbing Mallory's hand and kissing the back of it. Mallory's eyes water but Kate tries to be still. She pictures all the times the roles were reversed after a night terror or a bad trip or the time her mom suggested chicken for dinner, all the times Mallory had held her and stood up for her, and then tries to be here. 

"You don't have to tell me, but you can."
