audio dramas are a good medium because due to their creation being much more accessible to normal non millionaire people a central conflict in a considerable chunk of them is "oh god. I've just endured an event of mind bending indescribable horrors from which I will never fully recover. my view of life is fundamentally changed, I am not the person I once was, I have an enduring sense of fear and danger deep in my very bones. and I have to fucking go to work in seven hours."

you have to be very careful lately. because all my favorite girlies are still into the magnus archives. but all the same girlies are Very Excited about the mcr tour. so you never know which gerard they're talking about. did gerard way kill someone?? did gerard keay come out as nonbinary in an episode and i somehow forgot?? this requires more critical thinking skills than the rest of tumblr combined.

Every s1 episode is like “Statement ends. Well clearly this is stupid and NOTHING but just to be sure I had Sasha read every government document ever and Tim seduced his way into four international embassies to comb their databases. Hi Jonny! Hope Tumblr's been normal enough so far. Do you have a favorite deep sea animal? I like vampire squid. :)

I'm afraid I don't think I have a favourite deep sea animal, though I'm always delighted when they find something fucked up down there.

I'm really enjoying crabs at the moment, though, so please enjoy a selection of my favourites!

Halloween Crab

Look at this fuckin guy! He's so colourful and having a great time. He knows where the party is - it's in his heart.

Box crab

This guy's like a transformer, but instead of a jet fighter he transforms into a smooth lump with eyes. 10/10 no notes.

Mitten crab

He's wearing fuzzy mittens! What more do you want from him? This crab is an invasive species, which is really bad from an ecological point of view, but really good from a "check out this wanted poster they made for a crab" point of view.

Hi all, it's Jonny! You remember, from the Magnus Archives? Turns out I still have a Tumblr and, like everyone else, I'm giving Twitter some sideeye at the moment and looking out some other social medias. I have an Instagram, but I'm a bit too commited to just posting a captionless weird image a few times a year to properly use it. Tiktok's an option, I guess, but feels like a lot of effort. So I thought I might try being on Tumblr a bit more. Y'know, for fun.

To prove it's me, here is a picture of my face with one of my cats, who I love.

"But hang on, Jonny," I hear you cry, "you're a self-employed writer. Surely you wouldn't give us a photo of a beautiful sunlit cat unless you were trying to sell me something, right?"

Good instinct, friend.

So, one of the things I've been doing over the last few years is designing TTRPGs with my partner Sasha Sienna (Georgie from the Magnus Archives) as MacGuffin & Co. and we're currently doing a crowdfunder for a two-player roleplaying game, inspired by old adventure gamebooks, called PITCRAWLER.

It's over-the-top fantasy nonsense, full of the sort of wizards you'd see airbrushed onto the side of a van, and we're super proud of it. It's also a great starter game if your interested in tabletop RPGs, but haven't had the chance (or opportunity) to give them a try yet.
