According to History.com, March 18, 1969 marked the first US bombing of Cambodia. The following year of the same date, Lon Nol ousts then prince Sihanouk. Today, 42 years on its anniversary, Cambodians in Long Beach are commemorating the men and women who served to defend Cambodia. The photo below comes from our community liaison, Darlene Ly, who attended a Buddhist ceremony at Watt Khmera Buddhikara. The Khmerican would like to acknowledge this special day and pay our respects. Please reblog this photo to help spread awareness of March 18.

Nom Krok coconut custard pancake
I love when they’re freshly made and still crispy on the outside with the soft custard filling. For the sweet one, I added jackfruit. And scallions in the savory one. I’ve also made them with corn and scallions last year. The savory nom krok is usually eaten with sweet chili fish sauce. It’s good as a lettuce wrap too.

Ssamani @ sangsoo, seoul
Vietnamese restaurant, famous for unlimited spring roll as DYI. 4 different meets ; smoked duck, curried chicken, pork and beef with 20 type of veges…. Yeh they are UNLIMITED. When you finish the DYI spring roll, you might ask rice nuddle soup. Its quite korean ver. Of vietnamese soup, not expecting the deep taste from it. Recommend you if you are in hunger desiring to have unlimited supper ; bunch of veges/ various meat with 15,000 korean dollas only.
