WIP family tree: Hanae and Miura proceed to have Rido, Haruka and Juri. Haruka and Juri proceeded to have Kaname (second) and Yuuki. Rido and Midori proceeded to have Senri. Rido and Shizuka proceeded to have Eiri. Eiri and Vayne proceeded to have Miira. Eiri and Kaname proceeded to have Mana, Seiguaku, Miura ( II ) and Sumiteru Yuuki and Zero proceeded to have Kirin and Shisa

A very rough continuation of the story: it’ll be written out properly at another time, but this is how it ends.

Basically, I have already written out what'll happen through Kaede's story line, down to how he has three kids with a PB he actually loves, both the kids and wife are killed by hunters bc the wife was too trusting in the peace treaty, and later he sired two more kids with a pb he didn't care about, which are Noriko and Hideyoshi, before he went to sleep after teaching them how to rule. He has literally no love for them, nor anyone who came after

Now, some time passes, but the pressure of ruling combined with some daddy issues and not taking time outs to nap starts to make Hideyoshi go mad. He causes a few wars that honestly could've been avoided, kills people and vampires if they piss him off even the slightest bit. His wife tries to control him, he kills her too, realises what he did, goes even *more* mad.

Enter Hanae and Miura; it takes some craftiness and a small army sorry sacrificial pawns but they manage to take Hideyoshi down. Hanae consumes the last of Hideyoshi's life force to gain his powers, he dies, they are kinda thrust into the world of ruling.

This goes well, but after a certain amount of time, the first signs of madness are also starting to be seen in Hanae. Miura isn't sure if this is because she consumed their dad or if it's for another reason, but despite his best attempts there is nothing that he can do to stop it and it gets worse. He forces her to sleep until he figures out how to help her, and abolishes the monarchy bc if it's this easy for Purebloods to go mad, then the vampire race shouldn't be ruled solely by one. He doesn't want a repeat of his father's reign down the line.

Well, he kinda spends his time tryna figure out how tf he can help his beloved wife, only for Rido to kinda snap at having his shot at becoming King slip through his fingers; he eats Hanae first and, using the powers he acquired from consuming her, overpowered the grief-stricken Miura and eats him, too.

Character Sheet

Name: Kaede Kuran

Age: 10 000+ years

Race: Ancient Pureblood Vampire

Parents: Kaname Kuran && Hatsue (not exclusive to these RP blogs, but they will be used as their main when he interacts with others)

Appearance: Tall and lean, Kaede sports his father’s trademark messy brown hair and red eyes. He has his mother’s pale skin.

Personality: Composed and calm, he might come across as weary after the death of his wife and children. Unable to figure out where exactly he belongs anymore, he is unsure what caused him to wake up in this era, so many years after his own, when he’d originally planned to slumber forever.

Born in the middle of the great war, over 10 000 years ago, Kaede was raised by foster parents as his parents fought to bring peace back to the world. Though he grew up with grand tales of the two, with his foster parents regarding them with something akin to hero-status, Kaede was slightly indifferent. They were his parents, but they were strangers.

By the time he finally met his father, he was already a young adult. The hollow man before him had looked nothing like he’d imagined from the tales- the war had taken too much from his biological father; including himself. He’d become unable to call the man his father.

Still, he understood the situation behind the decision to leave him, and his life had truly been good with his foster parents, so he decided to give the weary King a chance, trying to get to know him better over the course of a rather awkward period of time.

Still, as more time passed and he found himself his own beloved wife, and she gave birth a first child of their own, Kaede understood the need to protect his loved ones, even if it meant not being near them, even further. The last chunk of ice melted and finally, he called Kaname his father for the very first time. The small, but warm smile he received in response made it all worth it.

Two more children followed after within the period of 50 years time, before it became time to bid the King good night; Kaname wished to hang up his crown and to rest, and Kaede took it upon himself to accept the crown. 

Hailed as the second Pureblood King, Kaede split time between his family and his duties, but the Hunters were getting restless, thinking that Kaname’s slumber was an oppertunity, they decided to attempt to break the treaty and to overthrow the remaining Purebloods, thinking their once renown powers to be mere fiction and folklore.

However, when their attempt at a war ended up in the deaths of Kaede’s wife and children through a dirty plot, making use of his wife’s goodnaturedness and twisting it, he reminded them all of just how real a Pureblood’s powers were.

The Hunters had wanted a war, and Kaede decided to give it to them.

The war was nothing less than a manslaughter. Though the weapons could kill Purebloods, without any Purebloods fighting at their side, the Hunters had no chance at even injuring them. Their numbers became scarce.

Hollow.

He finally understood just why Kaname had left the war looking the way he did. The war took too many sacrifices. He tried to rule a while longer, even tried to find a second wife, but his heart never really left his first and while he had an amiable relationship with his second wife, she knew she’d always place second in his heart. 

They had a single child, only to have a heir to the throne, continuing the Kuran line. Once this child had grown up to an adult, raised and taught by Kaede on how to best rule the vampires, while keeping peace with the hunters (but also teaching the child to never, ever, trust the hunters), he allowed himself to fall into slumber.

10 000 years ago...

He had ruled over a medium sized village as a kind, and just Lord; healing his subjects when they were ill, listening to complaints, but mostly keeping to himself in the large manor his human parents had left him, along with their titles.

However, this all changed when they found out his secret and rejected him, blinded by greed.

Following this, he took his coat and left the village, leaving his whole life behind, as he started to wander until he could no longer wander, avoiding people all the while, trying to forget the events that had chased him from his home, the only place he’d ever known…

He succeeded, to a certain point. He’d forgotten the good parts, he’d forgotten his family’s faces, their names - he’d even forgotten his own name, wandering around aimlessly, wondering about the point of his long and listless life…

Then, she’d found him.

“In that case I’ll have your name be… "Kaname” … Spoken and spelled like the name of my hometown,“

Hatsue had given him a new purpose, a new name - a new life even though he’d already decided to never let himself get attached to anyone or anything ever again… she’d found him and he’d clung to her strong and willful existence.

He’d fulfilled his duty as her right hand splendidly, throwing all he had into the war, into the cause; their cause, now. He threw all he had into her…

From their union, a son was born. However, times were unfit for them to raise their precious boy; they were in the middle of a war, enemies loomed at every corner; their child would only be used, get hurt… and so they took him to some trusted friends of theirs, for them to raise and love in their stead, until the war was over.

However, the war did not end the way Kaname had planned; Hatsue had sacrificed herself, leaving him empty once again; a pained and hollow existence, with only one purpose…

He continued the war in her stead, lowering the numbers of other Pureblood vampires, as the newly founded Hunters started calling the superior vampires. It’s only when the vampires were reduced to a mere 1/10th they once were, his own faction remaining, that the war came to an end.

He started calling himself ’Kuran’, named after the orchids that Hatsue used to love so much, and the nine years the war had raged. The start of the Kuran family, the head of the vampiric race as he tried to establish a society with the remaining vampires, installing rules and trying to keep the confusion of the new system at bay.

The King’s seat, filled by him. The Queen’s seat, empty.

However, after several years the vampires managed to settle into the new society as well as they could, getting used to the new peaceful life they’d always dreamed of… and then there was nothing for him to do, anymore.

His purpose, the thing that had kept him going all these years; gone.

He wondered what to do for a while, considered going to sleep, thinking his son be happier without the existence of an empty shell as a parent, but curiousity and the desire to see the last remnant of her drove him to seek out his son, many, many years after leaving him in others’ care.

Following that, was a long (and yet, looking back, it seems so brief) moment of awkward parenthood, in which he tried to assist his son in becoming happy, and living a just life. Though they were unable to get as close as Kaname would’ve liked, his son understood why he’d done what he did. Simply too much time had passed, and the adopted parents had become the boy’s own, while Kaname was but a stranger, someone who he’d heard about only in heroic tales told by others. A distant idol, to be admired from afar…

However, they managed to give them a chance, and managed to live in an amiable relationship, mending their bonds as much as they could.

Once his son founded his own family, with a lovely wife and three healthy children, Kaname realised that even to this person, he was no longer a neccessary existence…

And decided that it was finally time to rest his weary heart, and to allow himself to fall into a slumber he had no intention of waking from.
