Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.

“how dare you say we piss on the poor” is perhaps THEE best piece of vernacular to come out of tumblr dot com in the past decade. along with “what were you doing at the devils sacrament” (cheeky. inspired. relevant in every context) and “harold, they're lesbians” (timeless. funny as hell. gay)

Your parents are not "narcissists". They're typical authoritarian assholes who treat you like their property because society allows them to.
Your ex boyfriend is not a "narcissist". He's a typical misogynistic douchebag who treats women like shit because society allows him to.
Your boss is not a "narcissist". They're a typical classist dipshit who thinks workers' entire purpose in life is to generate profit because society allows them to.
And even if they happen to be a "narcissist", that's not what gave them the power to get away with abuse.
So stop blaming mental illness and start blaming society's normalization of abuse. Stop acting like someone has to have a mental illness in order to do something cruel when ordinary people have been doing atrocious things since forever.

im gonna talk about one of my jorts posts bc I always think this and I finally want to say it. so since I have jortsed the post and don’t want to bother a random person or single anyone out here is the post:
this gets reblogged near constantly with people going on about how they love this brennan lee mulligan quote. this is very annoying to me because it is irrelevant and actually almost contradictory to my original post - literally my argument is that the universe doesn’t care and that that doesn’t matter, but the quote says that you can make the universe care. You can’t. The “universe” is not a force that exists, or a mind, or an entity, or anything besides a conception we create in our minds. It’s basically the same as saying “you are made in god’s image so if you care then god cares” okay fine, please believe your own spiritual and religious beliefs, but it’s not relevant to my statement if I originally said “god isn’t real so there is no caring from them” you get it?? It’s not the same statement. And this is not to diss anyone’s religious beliefs - please have your own religious beliefs - but maybe you just aren’t the audience for my original post. The “universe” does not and cannot care. But you can care. And you do care. The so-called “universe” has zero bearing on this entirely. Why would I give a shit if the emptiness of space “cares” about anything when I can care about things - fully, deeply, madly, truly, even sacredly? My post is about dismantling the need for any greater power or force to care when you can do it right now and you do it every day and you do it with no proof that any higher power has ever done it first. Extract the need for a higher power from your thinking. Remove hierarchy from any spiritual place in your life. Create a livable laughable lovable absurdity. Eat hummus. Okay thank you for reading my ramble.
