IP Progress 4/6

It has been extremely difficult to focus on IP without the motivation of an exhibition and presentation. In addition, I have worked so hard on the 3 paintings I had left at school after fleeing back to New York because of the pandemic. 

It was talked about that I should do smaller scale “paintings” or even watercolors that I can upload for a virtual exhibition. Unfortunately, I don’t have any professional photographs of my previous paintings that I completed and that are still in my studio. 

After being diagnosed positive for the Corona Virus it has been hard focusing on school work- I have not yet started the smaller scale renderings. My family friend was also put into the ICU who has been on a ventilator for 2 weeks- it has just been a rough couple of weeks. 

I have been working on my draft 2 essay- which is helping me come up with possible ideas for the smaller renderings. Even after all this chaos, I still plan to finish my large scale paintings at home and submitting them to exhibitions world wide- I still have the strive to exhibit my work the way I originally planned.

Progress

due to the unfortunate events of this spread of the corona pandemic, my paintings have been on halt. After speaking with my professors, they have provided me an idea that sizing the scale down of my new work would be best since it will be presented digitally. Although my exhibition and painting series will not be exhibited the way I pictured it, I plan to continue my research and work after the semester.

In the meantime, I have been working on my Draft 2 of my thesis paper. I have included my methodology and creative work. However, I do not have professional photographs of my work since I was never “finished” with the pieces that I wanted to add last minute details to- like a layer of plexy glass on them and refining small mistakes. I still plan to finish them with what I had in mind as soon as I am able to transport my paintings back to New York.

Grey Poupon. 

Inspired by Andy Warhols’ Campbell Soup

Updated Painting #2. Circles represent the world around Scrooge, chaos. He is unaware of the world around him due to him only focusing on Money. I am stuck on the finishing details and need to order Plexy glass. I have started painting #3 and will put this one on hold.

How can I show that Scrogee Is only paying attention to the “Money” and forgetting the world around him? I started researching different artists and their technique. I used a pattern to reflect chaos. There still needs alot of cleaning up and finishing touches but Its making progress.
