In 2016, I have made a post about how in Super Mario Galaxy, whenever Mario sinks into a swamp, his head shrinks to allow his arm and hand to reach out of the swamp without his head being in the way. Normally, this cannot be seen in-game as it occurs below the surface, and requires external tools to move the game's camera.
If Mario sinks into the swamp after hitting the edge of a platform in the manner shown in the footage, a desync of the animation will occur whereby it will activate while Mario is still almost completely visible. This allows the shrinking of his head to be seen in-game.

In Super Mario World, Mario cannot be crushed by a P-Switch. If he is caught between a P-Switch and a wall, he will be pushed out in the direction opposite to the wall.
However, there is no such protection when being caught between two P-Switches and a wall, which will in fact crush Mario.

In Super Mario World, steep slopes appear only rarely and have as such not been as rigorously tested during development as other terrain features. Due to this, they exhibit various odd properties such as the one showcased in the footage, whereby holding Down on this arrangement of steep slopes will cause Mario and Yoshi to keep sliding backwards up and down each slope.

In Super Mario Sunshine, the blue Cataquacks that appear in Gelato Beach launch Mario into the air when they touch him, while red Cataquacks also harm him while doing so.
If Mario starts talking to Il Piantissimo in his mission while a red Cataquack is approaching, it will continuously attack Mario during the cutscene while Mario cannot run away or defend himself, and finally kill him when the cutscene finishes.
