I think my favorite aspect of Faith's character is just how good she is at reading people while also being emotionally stunted about it. she's kind of like Spike in that way but notable examples:

She gets all dressed up and dances with a vampire at the bronze with no stake or cross. makes a big show on the dance floor to catch Buffy's attention and leads her outside so she can borrow a stake and do a slaying as an introduction.

she encounters Spike at the bronze and catches a half a whiff of him crushing on Buffy and immediately crushes his spirit about it. gets him so hard he gets nauseous

she gives Angel a gun with one blank and one live round Knowing she can get him to fire the blank and give the gun back so she can shoot him in the gut

but she's unable to use this capability understand that anyone might actually give a shit about her or her well-being. she's so funny and messy and I love her
