why'd you regret waiting till ur daughter was older to pierce her ears?

my daughter has pretty severe inattentive adhd. for two years she begged me to get them pierced and i eventually found the opportunity to do it for her 7th birthday this year. when she was tiny, i could've taken care of them myself. but her age meant that she had to take care of them herself for the most part, she also worked herself up into a panic attack right before the piercing (she said that it wasn't really bad 2 seconds later). basically, her being older made her more prone to infection/gave her more access to germs and she was able to work herself into a meltdown over something she herself said wasn't all that painful. her ears closed themselves 2x because a couple times she took her earrings out to play with them and she only told me the next day. she even told me herself that she wished i had done it when she was a baby.

also, just as a side note, I'm Hispanic/Latine and it's a super common thing in my culture to do it before a baby's 2nd birthday, the sooner the better.

#sunbun speaks #her adhd made her forget they were there and nearly rip them out #so yeah her being older was actually riskier than if she had been a tiny child #now that her ears are healed she absolutely adores them and recently got a haircut to show them off #but she herself has expressed to me that she wishes i hadn't waited so long #she constantly hurts herself so i had to assess the risk to getting her something she could rip out of her ears

I got my lobes pierced when I was 12, so elementary school. I added more over the years when I was in high school and then took those out, but got my conch pierced when I was 27. So I have my lobes and conch currently.

what's going on in the congo since there's also a genocide happening over there as well:

to sum it up, people in the congo are literally being worked as slaves to mine for this material called coltan, which is very valuable as its used for things like phones, laptops, just electronics in general. Congo is the number 1 producer for this material and the places behind this genocide is America, Britain, France, and Israel, wow what an absolute shocker. The worst places probably to ever exist benefit from a genocide. These places are funding Rwanda and Uganda military groups, to go into the Congo and kill MILLIONS of people. This has also been going on for YEARS. Many women have been SA'd and men are forced to work in INHUMAN conditions, resulting in their death and the colonizers are absolutely benefitting from this. 6 MILLION people have been killed and half of them are literally kids. Many of the Congolese people have also been displaced.
