so we all agree that harrows letter to camilla in htn explained the lobotomy right. or at least explained that she removed all memory of gideon to preserve her soul. do you think camilla thought ‘yeah sounds like a solid plan’ or was she a hypocrite who thought, ‘this bitch is crazy. i, camilla hect, on the other hand am responding to my necromancer’s death in a way that is correct and normal’.

Tbh? I don't like Paul. I don't want Paul. I understand that Paul serves an important narrative function and that Paul is the best possible ending for Camilla and Palamedes given their situation, personalities, and relationship. However what I really want is for Camilla and Palamedes to attend the ATN wedding as two individual humans and for Pal to be a lightweight who loses his tie in the garden fountain after three drinks and for Camilla to do exactly one shot with the group, keep Gideon from ripping the sleeves off her dress shirt, and absolutely kill it at lawn games during cocktail hour. Since this scenario is a wild tonal mismatch for the series and also Palamedes was already dead, this was unlikely to ever happen. However Paul is the final nail in the coffin for the theoretical existence of this scene and I can't help but resent them for that

#for me its grieving the loss of two characters i loved #in a very real way they died in probably the only way that counts in this setting #their souls as individuals are gone #even if this is better or something i dont care #i miss them as their imperfect old selves

Bad kids: Reunion

A lot is made in the show of keeping the party together, either in later grades or in college. (It also comes up in the seven)

But of every single adult we know in Spyre.. who is still in an adventuring party? I think its the kind of thing where most groups naturally break apart. Someone takes a steady job in Bastion City, and swears it won't eat into adventuring, and they do pretty well at first. Someone else specializes and goes into a postgrad program that isn't adventuring focused. Someone gets married, has a kid.

Ten years later the bad kids are all friends and varying degrees of close, but they haven't been on a real adventure in like seven years. And the ones they have been on were milk runs, not even the whole party went.

But then something starts happening. Something very bad for everyone. It's hard to say what's causing it, or how it's happening, but there's only one group of people who can stop it.

I'd watch that. Gorgug and Riz are feeling their age a little, but Adaine and Fabian look the same as they did the day they all graduated. Kristen has a following, it's hard for her to leave to do anything. Fig JUST came back from tour, and does not want to hit the road again.

Do you see my vision??

I don’t have terribly high hopes that this will happen but imagine if we get Senior Year and the final fight is level 20 Bad Kids. Fantasy high is D20’s flagship property and the Bad Kids the original D20 party. How iconic would it be if they reached max level and become truly unstoppable gods, probably fighting something like reality itself just to make it a challenge still
