A slightly gritty pulpiness to it–the full-sized ones, at least.” Tomatoes, that is–should she clarify that?

Fran’s brow knits then, distracted by the meticulous care Fugo takes in separating tomato from cheese. “Ah, you’re not eating it? …Sorry. Do you want to order something else? I’ll pay for it.”

“i’ve had them fried before” and they’re much better that way breaded, fried dipped in some sort of mayo based sauce. he recalls bruno buying some for him once to try and fugo never imagined you could fry a vegetable like that.  “no it’s fine...” and he gives fran a reassuring smile as he carves out the inside of the slice of fruit “i just don’t like the middle part...it’s a bit..” he feels like he says the word ‘mushy’ but he very easily couldn’t have.

well, a loveseat is better than a chaise, and fugo can’t see a clock out of any place easily visible at an attempt to mark the minute. the snacks picked out sitting in front of him are of higher quality, name brand vs. store brand.  “i heard you were extremely patient.”

Hm. Softer than she expected. Not that she’s been thinking about it, or anything.

    Limoncello has enough mercy to ease off of Fugo’s back as his breath hitches a little around the juice, though she of course maintains her smug smile all the while (she has a reputation to uphold, after all). “Mmh, I didn’t say that. What I’m hearin’ is that you want you to buy groceries for your apartment, for me.”

all that regained breath immediately gets expelled as fugo laughs, “that’s not what they really want..” the napolitano are smarter than that; seeking bruno and fugo out individually to share their kindness. complimenting their butchers so they’ll be thought of to receive the best prime steak. “you know nothing will ending up changing if i do or don’t. i buy for myself already but that hasn’t deterred you from cleaning out my fridge and pantry. you don’t cook or clean. narancia at least helps me carry the groceries up the stairs.”

it’s hard to not to mask fugo’s initial reaction of disgust and his frown only deepens as he quickly files through what he’s done today while picking at the shoulder of his jacket and giving it a brief sniff. i smell fine. “i think you’re just fucking with me...” faith not returning fugo smooths out the crease in his shoulder and stands a bit more upright. though now fugo uncomfortably sits on the edge of what could be a bluff and he has to know. “what do i smell like?”

     She leans over the table, whistling low at the streak of red icing splattered across its surface–a veritable confectionery-crime-scene–and swipes a long index finger through it in one swift motion to taste. Credit to the agitated little bastard (affectionate), the guy makes good icing. "Is lil ol’ me makin’ you nervous, Fugo?” Limoncello lifts her gaze to Fugo with a grin that’s all teeth, looking like the cat who caught the canary. “Should I avert my womanly gaze so as not to disturb your delicate Victorian kitchen-boy sensibilities, maybe?”

“if i was a victorian kitchen-boy like you said you would have already framed me for theft..” it’d be too easy to slip a precious gem into his pocket, and fugo with a fiberglass temper would be whisked away with one less finger to a reform school.  looking at the smear of icing limoncello left behind fugo picks a towel out from the pocket of his apron. the blend of embarrassment and frustration turns the back of his neck bright pink he really can’t look at her right now.  “you could just leave me be and wait somewhere else for them to get done...like a normal person...”

“if you’re thinking about dipping your hand into forming a group instead of being solo then narancia is the one you want.” always listening to something, it was amazing to see him pick up on a difficult rap after a few chances of listening to it.  "....but it wouldn’t be me...” fugo shies away from putting themselves on the front like that. though if it was really warranted maybe he could be a back up vocalist; humming and ahh-ing their way through a una chorus. “i could still play something with you..”
