As he spoke, Anastasia looked at the part in question. Her eyebrows raised slightly as she carefully turned it. It did make a funny sort of noise- which made her smile wide with a little giggle. 

 “Oh! I made the noise!”

     Luke couldn't help but smirk as she giggled. He never would have imagined him working on his bike with a niece. Let alone having a child or a steady girlfriend. Just weird how things change like that. "You did, good job."

“Nothing directly... I remember her mentioning when I was pregnant with Lisa, that she was a little envious. Then talked about how good of a dad you are...which she’s uh, not wrong.”

     “Oh okay, Guess I’ll have to talk to her then. Between you and me, I’ve never been in a committed relationship like this. So I don’t know where to begin.” In fact, this was probably the healthiest one Luke’s been in. “Thanks. I’m glad you think so.”

Emma smirked. “She loves it- and Lisa is wild about Ana so anytime a meltdown is about to happen, uh, Ana swoops in.” She paused. “You and Misty ever talk about having kids?”

The second Hank heard Luke’s voice- he rolled his eyes. He’d hoped- that with any luck it would’ve been Emma to come to the door. But that didn’t seem to be the case. Here’s hoping this guy was as reasonable as his sister.

 “Jesus fucking christ. I’m not looking for any shit, alright? I’m off duty, I don’t have my badge. I think we can both agree that your sister has been through enough- and doesn’t need any more loss, or her brother getting locked up.”

     Luke was just silent as Hank spoke. Still holding the gun to the door, he wasn't sure if he could trust him mainly because he knew Hank. But off duty or not, Hank was still a cop. On top of all that, the cop that had shot him was now lying to the media about what happened in the house. Luke couldn't trust anyone. "I want to make it clear that I didn't do anything to that pig."

She gripped onto her phone harder, trying to stop the shake in her hands. It felt like deja vu all over again; but this couldn’t be the last time.  Luke had to make it through this. She had barely pulled herself together since the lost of her husband- she didn’t think she could survive the loss of her brother too.

“I love you too. You’re not. You’ve been the best  brother anyone could ask for.”  She paused as she swallowed the lump in her throat.  “Where are you? I’ll come and get you.”

     "Just stay home okay?" He replied as he sat down in the open window sill. Gripping the phone tight, he knew he fucked up. Luke decided that he was going to surrender. But before he could tell her that the door flew open as a young cop entered with his gun raised. The noise startled Luke and the next thing he knew there was a bang along with an excruciating pain on the left side of his shoulder.

     The force of the shot caused Luke to lose his balance and fall out of the window. His phone smashed onto the concrete driveway while Luke was lucky enough to have landed in a bush. He remained there until he realized what happened, adrenaline started pumping as he sprung to his feet and tore off. He had to escape. He had no where else to go so he headed towards his sister’s house.

     Having to avoid patrol cars along the way, it took Luke awhile but he finally got to Emma’s house. He silently approached the back door. He knocked with one hand while the other held his injured. bloody, shoulder.
