» setting stuff up but i’m just thinking about someone calling alyssa ‘sweetheart’ or some shit and she just stares at them and (in spencer fashion) “ i’m not your sweetheart, and it’s agent ”

» if i do move ill bring threads with me, and some asks. everything will be the same, it’s literally just that so many of my tags are currently broken and i have this consistent need to be organised. 🩵 i will be going through my follower list to make sure i get everybody, so don’t worry about that either!

» a weak laugh left her lips before she gave a sigh, pushing her hair back from her face. of course he’d gotten his flu shot. “ i don’t plan on doing anything like that any time soon, spence. ” she responded, blue eyes glancing up to the door frame where his head peeked out. he was sweet for helping her. he really was. she was just so accustomed to being on her own. even in college, she spent most of her time ostracised, cast out. she was too much, didn’t even have to try and she excelled. a full class schedule, plus a few more. she was on track to graduate even earlier than some who had been there for much longer than she had. she learned pretty quickly back then that friends weren’t necessarily a need, more… something she didn’t know much about.

» take care of yourself, lyssie. your dad wont be around to take care of you forever. i’ll be gone for a week, take care of the house until i get back. you’re old enough to be independent, sweetheart. her father’s voice bounced around in her head, like a record caught on one track. unable to continue. childhood hadn’t existed. she had realised that recently. even when her father was in town, he spent so much time away from her. she’d taught herself most everything, learned to be independent. because she had to be.
» she was brought back from her thoughts by the cool washcloth, the gentleness of his movements as he brought it up to her forehead. had he always been like this? had he always made her heart skip a beat? no- no, she’ll blame the fever for that.
» “ you’re stubborn.. you know that? ” a smile played on her lips as she turned to look at him. “ okay… i’ll rest, and i’ll hydrate. just… ” a pause as she tried to find the right words to say. “ thanks.. for staying, and for helping.. i… i appreciate it. ”
“Correct!” He replied from inside her little ensuite. “But you’re missing some important variables in your equation. I had my flu shot last week and will take the necessary precautions.” His head appeared at the door frame. Spencer had a smile on his lips. “As long as you don’t cough or sneeze on me or we exchange any other bodily fluids, I think we’re fine.” He could understand her reluctance. He, too, tended to rely on himself in most things. It was a coping mechanism both had carried on from childhood. Only children. Single parent. Social isolation. And he knew when to respect Aly’s boundaries, but not when she was really in need. Or could be harmed by refusing his help.

The young doctor returned from the bathroom with a glass of water, the thermometer, and a cold washcloth. Sitting down next to her, he gently wiped the cloth over her cheeks before laying it over her forehead. “I’m going to measure your temperature, and then I’m going to the shop – and I’ll take your purse,” he added before she had the chance to remind him again. “You should drink and stay in bed.” His voice was as soft as the look on his face.

» do i write a drabble of alyssa coming face to face with her dad again? it would be during the time his “copycat” (accomplice) is active and targeting people who look exactly like her. 🫢
