Technophobes need to apologise for "just put it in plain English you stupid machine!" because, well for one the decline in accurate error messages in favour of simplicity has contributed to the rise of tech illiteracy, but also because now whenever an "app" has a net connection error it will pop up a box saying something like "oo ooopsie! Your super duper feed went poo poo. We'll try again soon!" which having said to me by a corporation is about 8 million times worse than having to hear the word "network".

When people get a little too gung-ho about-
wait. cancel post. gung-ho cannot be English. where did that phrase come from? China?
ok, yes. gōnghé, which is…an abbreviation for “industrial cooperative”? Like it was just a term for a worker-run organization? A specific U.S. marine stationed in China interpreted it as a motivational slogan about teamwork, and as a commander he got his whole battalion using it, and other U.S. marines found those guys so exhausting that it migrated into English slang with the meaning “overly enthusiastic”.
That’s…wild. What was I talking about?

like. when i was a kid, there was this weird sorta hesitancy to the way people approached the internet. it was a new(ish) technology, people thought it was a fad! even into the 2000s the majority opinion was that it was a weird tool that could be useful if you really wanted, but wasn't necessary to function as a person or anything.
but i remember when the first iphone came out and how much that changed everything instantly. like, you guys remember the ipod touch? we had no idea when our parents gave us those that that would be the last time we'd ever not have a miniature computer with a touch screen in our pockets for the next 15 years...
and SO much of the landscape of the internet has changed since then. sites have emerged, exploded in popularity, been made obsolete by competitors and then just disappeared from the web one day without a trace. years of conversations, essential parts of our development as human beings! but idk, digital rot is a well documented phenomenon at this point, and personally i never particularly expected while talking to online friends as a 15 year old that id be able to reread those same conversations 30 years later
if anything, honestly, the strangest part for me is the stuff that IS still here. like, i remember when i first downloaded tumblr. 2014, that's ALREADY ten years ago. will i still be making stupid meme posts and nostalgically circulating the same jokes as a 40 year old? or will this site too go down without more than a few months announcement in five or six years? honestly i have no idea! maybe by then we'll all have abandoned tumblr anyway, and be using some new competitor called "Postule" started by some kid who's still in middle school rn. some asshole who doesn't even know what a "blog" is.
but like. even if that does happen, i feel like i know enough by now to understand that we'll all just.. pick up whatever pieces we still have, and revive the tumblr culture on some site called "Postule". its not like it'll make much difference to me personally in the long run!
IDK if i even had much of a point with this post, besides like. barring some global tragedy or something else extreme, i DO know ill be making my silly little posts somewhere on the internet. and wherever it is, i hope to see you all there :)

Shout out to those who have to be carried or dragged around their house because their house isn't accessible to their mobility aids
Shout-out to those who have to crawl and scoot around their house because their house isn't accessible for their mobility aids
Shout out to those who have to use a office chair with wheels around their house because their house isn't accessible to their mobility aids
It's fucking tough having a inaccessible house

Palestinians are being persecuted from their homes in an ongoing genocide. Due to the armed actions of Israel, they lack access to essentials such as food, water, electricity and medical care.
In response to this crisis, all proceeds from the Palestinian Relief indie bundle will be donated to the PCRF (Palestine Children's Relief Fund). PCRF describes itself as "the primary humanitarian organization in Palestine, delivering crucial and life-saving medical relief where it is needed most". By donating to the PCRF, Palestinians will have better access to medical relief, food and water.
Want more TTRPGs? You can donate $15 to TTRPGs for Palestine.
Not sure where to start with the bundle? Check out randombundlegame.com or Dominic's list.
