Currently starting this series UNDEAD+UNLUCK the first chapter was amazing. I’m looking forward to this series. Fuuko Izumo is an 18 years old girl who wants to end her life trying to jump from a bridge, many people want to stop her but she claims that if someone touches they will get a disease. Randomly at that moment a guy appears wanting to see what she claimed to have, but it’s not a disease, Izumo takes people's luck once they touch her, to a point where they can die. To her surprised this guy didn’t die instead he regenerates himself claiming to be undead. These pair join in the search to finding more about her powers and the perfect way to die.

I'm reading this on the MangaPlus app. With 61 chapters and ongoing!

Review: Blue Box, Chapter Three

Three chapters in to Blue Box, a manga serialization on Shonen Jump, and my love for the series continues to grow.

Did I mention I’m a fan of manga that has a seamless blend of sports and romance? It’s definitely one of my favorite genres, and I have continued to be impressed, excessively giggly, and outright fangirl explosion-y with this new series!

Of course this latest chapter of Blue Box was no exception, but it gives readers something a little different than the first two. Chapter three presents a potential crush from another character on the main hero, Taiki, but it also shows that he has made a “grave” mistake that his senpai tells him he might not recover from.

Sound dramatic? Indeed it does, but the ending makes the angst worth it in seeing how Taiki handles this accidental mishap that came from good intentions.

And speaking of angst, this slow burn romance creates just that. While Senpai mentions her focus is on the basketball team and getting to nationals (the previous chapter mentioned Taiki is doing the same), it brought to mind the question: Just how earnest is she in saying this?

Not that I doubt her (or Taiki), mind you! But I’ll confess that when it comes to characters I’m shipping and rooting for, I like to overanalyze and “dig deep” in guessing their true intentions. While I definitely think both main characters are very much focused on going to nationals and preparing for that, I can’t help but think that neither of them would mind if the possibility of them becoming a couple came to fruition.

I suppose that on May 9th, when the next chapter releases, I’ll find out if my speculations are indeed correct or not.

逆にスパムを検出できずにそのまま通してしまうことを偽陰性と呼ぶ。偽陰性の発生率が低いほど、スパムフィルタリングの効率が良いとされる。

例えば、米国の多くの州では、新生児に対してフェニルケトン尿症と甲状腺機能低下症のような先天性疾患のスクリーニングを行う。この場合、「偽陽性」の確率が非常に高いが、非常に早い段階でそれらの疾患を検出できるという利点がある。

輸血の際にHIVや肝炎のスクリーニングを行うが、この場合も「偽陽性」の確率は高い。実際にそれらの病気にかかっているかの検査はもっと正確な結果が得られる。

アンチウイルスソフトウェアでは、問題のないファイルをウイルスと誤認識することを偽陽性と呼ぶ。その原因はヒューリスティックやデータベース上のウイルスシグネチャの誤りによる。同様の問題はトロイの木馬やスパイウェアの検出でも発生する。

データベース検索

データベース検索では、検索要求に対して得られる適切でない結果を偽陽性と呼ぶ。特に全文検索で発生しやすい。全文検索は格納されている全文書の全内容について、ユーザーが指示した数個の単語が含まれているものを探す。

偽陽性の発生原因は自然言語の曖昧さにあることが多い。例えば「ホーム」という単語は「誰かの住居」という意味もあれば「あるWebサイトのトップレベルのページ」という意味もある。

光学文字認識 (OCR)

一般に検出アルゴリズムは偽陽性に陥り易い。光学文字認識(OCR)ソフトウェアは "a" のように見えるドットの集まりを "a" であると認識してしまう可能性がある。

一般のセキュリティ

偽陽性は空港でのセキュリティチェックなどでよく発生している。警報は武器が持ち込まれようとしていると判定されたときに鳴るよう設計されているが、その感度は高めに設定されている

誤検知：False Positive（フォールス・ポジティブ）、False Negative（フォールス・ネガティブ）

この用語は情報処理分野に限らず、最近受けた全く異業種の試験にも、医師国家試験にも登場しているので、覚えるしかなさそうな勢いがある。

False Positive：誤検知、過剰検知（陰性なのに陽性）、偽陽性、第一種過誤、Type I error、α過誤。Positive（陽性）がFalse（偽）だから偽陽性。 ITの例：正常なメールなのにスパム扱い。ECショップにおいて、ファイアウォールが厳しすぎて注文のメールさえ届かないなど（笑）。 家庭の例：インターホンで夫の顔を見て不審者だと思いロックを解除しない奥さん。 統計学で言うところの、帰無仮説が真なのに棄却してしまうこと。

False Negative：見落とし、検知漏れ（陽性なのに陰性）、偽陰性、第二種過誤、Type II error、βエラー。Negative（陰性）がFalse（偽）だから偽陰性。 ITの例：スパムなのに正常扱い。同僚や上司だからという理由で検出基準を緩めたら敵は近くにいたなど。 家庭の例：イケメンだったからという理由でしつこい勧誘を宅内に招き入れてしまった主婦。 統計学では対立仮説が真なのに帰無仮説を採択してしまうこと。

血液検査で「陽性（+）反応」というと、病気や異常、感染が見つかったという意味だから、ITの世界ではそれをコンピューターウイルスに置き換えるとわかりやすい。「陰性（-）」は異常なし。
