before you start beating yourself up for not doing enough, stop! are you holding yourself to unrealistic standards? are you expecting yourself to do more than you’d expect from a friend in a similar position? are you accurately accounting for the amount of work you’ve done lately? are you moralising some kinds of work and demonising others? are you letting capitalism own your brain? truly! stop! and calm the fuck down!

My favorite part about being sapphic is when the things I love about other women become things I love about myself. One day I was tracing another woman’s stretch marks in a dim bedroom light. And then, seemingly by accident, I was doing it to myself in my bathroom mirror. I loved the feeling of a full hand of flesh when I grabbed a woman’s hips, and then mine didn’t need to be so skinny anymore. I looked at a woman’s lower stomach pudge and thought it was so soft and cute, then never wanted a flat stomach again. Loving women can be so healing when you come from a world that doesn’t.

With the holidays coming up this is everyone’s reminder to
Ask little kids if they’d like a hug first
If they say no, verbally affirm the reasonable shit you just heard. “You said you wouldn’t like a hug. We won’t hug.”
You don’t even have to redirect with a high five, even though that’s fine. Touching isn’t for everyone.
Do not say upsetting things like “where is my hug?” Clown, you don’t own hugs.
It is fine to model consent by placing boundaries on touch. “Let’s wash your hands before we cuddle.” “I’m leaving this couch if you continue to yeet your foot into my pregnant belly.” “that was fun but I’m going to take a break now.”
Touchy children are not inherently sweeter. Love languages exist at any age.
Some kids like touch but not eye contact. A hug from behind is a good one or “let’s close our eyes and squeeze really tight. Ready?”
I’m dead f*ing serious there are people who want your physical affection so badly but need you to modify your approach. Just like there are people who want to get into buildings but need ramps.
Don’t comment if a kid shows affection to another adult but not you. They’re weird like that but you don’t have to make it weirder.

I dont really understand the traumagenic vs endogenic discourse.maybe it's because I'm older, but I don't see the point. There's a million reasons why I could say it's irrelevant, but in life you're constantly going to see things you don't particularly understand , and you're just gonna have to get that sometimes, it's none of your business. It's none of my business how someone is a system or how many alters/headmates they have or what language they prefer. It's their own lives, not mine. A lot of traumagenics feel caught up in their own misery going "why would you want to be this way????" That's not really the question here.
Back in the truscum days, ppl would say the same thing: why would you want to be/make this character trans, obviously it's a condition that's only perpetuating misery.
Well maybe to you it does, but not to everyone else. Your experiences are not universal, and people will interpret the same exact situation differently based on their experiences.
At the very least, if someone wants to make an embarrassment of themselves, that's no skin off your back.

I've been seeing a disturbing number of "queer safe spaces" describe themselves as things like "femme & them" and even worse "she+," conflating femininity & nonbinaryhood. cease this immediately. say it with me: nonbinary people are NOT women-lite and it is extremely violent and straight up incorrect to imply that all they/thems are fem adjacent. this is erasure and this verbiage does nothing but make gnc and nonbinary spaces unsafe for masc and male nonbinary people. nonbinary, genderqueer and other third gender people can be and are masculine and men, we can be hes as well as shes and theys, stop allowing yourself and your peers to view nonbinary as woman/femme-lite, signed a butch nonbinary person.
