can we stop using physical/sexual abuse for general system traumas?
physical/sexual abuse = trauma
trauma ≠ physical/sexual abuse
in fact, most systems around the world were developed because of these types of abuse, but indirectly people often end up invalidating other systems that have suffered other types of trauma by portraying it only as the physical or sexual ones.
here’s the meaning of trauma:

parents fighting each other every single day can be traumatic for a child.
humiliation, bullying, social exclusion and/or prejudice can be traumatic for a child.
religious issues (occurs when an individual struggles with leaving a religion or a set of beliefs that has led to their indoctrination. it often involves the trauma of breaking away from a controlling environment, lifestyle, or religious figure. font) can be traumatic for a child (ex.: a child forced by their parents to believe only in a certain religion and facing punishment if they question its beliefs or the parents’ attitude).
daily verbal abuse/emotional instability from parents can be traumatic for a child (yelling, insults).
and other types of intense, prolongated trauma!
any trauma is valid.

you rarely switch
you don't have consistency in your switches
your switches are always consistent
you have high amnesia barriers
you have very little amnesia, if any
you remember your trauma
you don't remember your trauma
you want to pursue healthy multiplicity
you want to pursue final fusion
you have a lot of alters
you have very few alters
you have poor communication
you have good communication

say it with me. your trauma is valid even if:
the ones who hurt you were/are traumatized individuals.
you are/appear functional.
it was not caused by a romantic partner or family member.
“it could have been avoided”.
no one knows about it.
“it’s not that bad”
other people had it worse.
someone went through the same experience and does not feel debilitated by it.
it occurred a long time ago / you feel just fine now.
the ones who hurt you have apologized.

There are multiple ways to heal with DID. And yes, that includes both final fusion and functional multiplicity.
Fusion is not m/rdering [u] alters, it’s coming together as one to heal, and the thought of that is badass. Ya’ll are overcoming trauma and coming together to help yourselves, and that’s so cool of you. You deserve that!
At the same time, Functional Multiplicity is not anti-recovery or “an Endogenic excuse to continue roleplaying” (yes I’ve actually seen someone say that). It’s lowering amnesia and communication barriers to work TOGETHER with your other alters to overcome trauma and deal with everyday life. That’s amazing too!
Everyone’s healing journeys are different, and that’s totally valid! Some systems don’t have the option either. I’ve seen systems whose therapists and other professionals they work with say that final fusion would be contradictory to their healing and would cause more damage mentally and physically. On the other hand, I’ve seen systems who cannot work towards functional multiplicity because of the same reason.
You’re valid no matter what your healing path is. Every system is different and that’s ok. We are diverse people and it sucks that we hound at each other for our different ways of healing from trauma. To anyone who has been criticised because of the path they’re taking towards healing, I’m so sorry. You are so valid and deserve the world. /gen /p

It is completely okay and normal to struggle with healing. Healing is not a linear process, and it is okay if you fall backwards sometimes, struggle or even need to stop at points. You are amazing for even trying.

Hello, if you’re alright with these types of questions, i’d like to ask if you have any tips for someone thinking theu might be a system? I’ve done a lot of research into it and have been thinkung that i am a system, but i dont know where to start wirh figuring it out.
So first I'll say that if you're seeing a professional or have access to one have talk to them about it. They'll be able to help you more than I ever could probably. However if you don't or can't for any reason the here's some places to start.
Do research and talk to systems. We don't mind answering just about any question so chances are any questions you have we'll be more than willing to answer. Of course, continued to do scholarly research and AVOID ENDOGENIC AND NONTRAUMAGENIC SYSTEMS AND SPACES!! They spread a ton of misinfo about the disorder.
Next, if it turns out you ARE a system try reaching out to your alters. Leave notes in a notebook. I find that at first a notebook is more effective than leaving something in the notes app on your phone. A notebook can be left in obvious places and notes app can be closed out of. Once you have some sort of communication established trying to learn more about your parts will be helpful.
Its also important to remember that there are different types of systems. So, while in these early stages look into all types. DID OSDD-1 OSDD-2 PDID (Partial DID) UDD
And look into some other disorders that are often mistaken for one of these. Schizospec Disorders BPD Delusional Attachment MADD Bipolar Disorder

PG Things For Littles To Do While Fronting
Some systems are very protective of syskids, but being a syskid and fronting isn't easy to do when you're in an older body. So we came up with a list of things our more innocent and traumatized syskids do while fronting. Not as important, but I used the word little in the title because it works for age regressors as well.
Write short stories about things. This allows traumatized syskids to express themselves and cope, as well as encourages them to learn about new things and develop fluency if they speak/read like a literal kid. (For example, some of our syskids still speak, read, and write with the grammar and spelling of actual kids.)
Do some art. Similar to the way above, it can allow syskids to cope and express themselves. It can also just be fun for them to do.
Similar to the one above, coloring can just be fun but it can also help people cope and express themselves.
Watch child and PG shows/movies! Some suggestions would be My Little Pony, Winx Club, Strawberry Shortcake, Scooby Doo, Spongebob, and basically any Disney or Nickeloadeon show.
Make jewlrey. It serves as a fun distraction and for smaller systems (it's more difficult for larger ones but not impossible), you could make it into a game for them to make a bracelet or piece of jewlrey for other headmates as an identifier and decorate it with things that remind them of them.
Play games on the phone. This could be games like Solitare, beauty salon games, Toka Toka kitchen, word games, coloring games, and more.
Play outside. This is less "sociably acceptable" if you're playing games like hide and seek or tag, but you can still have fun playing older games too like counting the animals you see, making flower crowns, find fun shapes out of clouds, etc.
Have a spa/self care day. Take a bath, do your makeup/hair, paint your nails, play dress up, read a book, take a nap, and cuddling a pet are some ideas. One of our syskids really likes dinosaurs, so we have a dinosaur informative book he reads when he fronts (for some inspiration on what you could read).
These are just a few ideas and some things we have around the house that are inconspicuous to others (if you aren't out about being a system). Our syskids and regressors find them fun and interesting to do while in front. Anyone else can add things to do as well!!
