"I'll make sure to post it on Insta, #librarianlooks." Tabby laughed, striking a pose. While she didn't dress like Ms Frizzle all the time, she enjoyed embracing more quirky and childish patterns for school. It made the kids smile and that was more than enough for her. Plus it made her more approachable if a kid had a problem. "Not at all, the more the merrier." She said, gesturing for Thea to enter the apartment. The ingredients for the salad were sitting on the counter, ready to be prepped. She had grilled chicken, a lettuce mix, cheese crumbles, apple crisps, and walnuts. It was definitely not a copy of the Panera salad, no way. Mokey was lounging on her cat tree, eyeing Thea as she walked past her. "Take a seat. Want something to drink? I have Coke, iced tea, water, hard cider, um a Yoohoo that I swiped from a student. Whatever you want."

"I'm sure they will; I can't imagine it's not going to be a cool outfit." Thea admitted. She herself was more of a casual outfits and more neutral clothing type of person, but, she admired the people that could successfully pair patterns with other patterns and it actually look good. "I'm curious to see this outfit though, I can bet you it's cute." Thea smiled. As the other thanked her, Thea nodded. "Don't mention it, no problem." And just as she was about to excuse herself, Thea heard the other offer for her to stay. "Oh, a summer salad sounds delicious." she nodded. "Sure, I'd love to stay. I was going to have a salad myself, but I'd love to keep you company." she smiled. "If you're sure I'm not intruding?"

"Oh Santiago, hi!" Tabby said, feeling her embarrassment slip away at the familiar face. "Thanks, yeah. Sometimes you just gotta dance it out. But a bonfire, you say? I didn't even know that was happening. That sounds really fun."

Tabby glanced back at the retro cat clock in her apartment. It wasn't too late, and she didn't have school in the morning. She looked down at her clothes, jean shorts and a t-shirt, and shrugged. "If you're sure it's okay, and that I won't cramp your style, I'd love to come. It'll be great to hang out with you and whoever else shows up."

Santiago doesn't do house calls anymore, not since this stopped being his primary source of income, but sometimes they happen, when he has free time, the energy, what have you. Driftwood Sands is familiar in him, the place he grew up so navigating the streets to his clients apartment is easy, he's in and out within moments, and headed out to Bayside for the bonfire that was happening. It's when he hears music coming from another familiar area, Santiago makes a quick decision to make his way to that door, three quick knocks on the door. Tabby was new to Celestial, and the few times he'd run into her in this small town went well enough that Santi thought that perhaps welcoming her into things with a bonfire might be nice. Who made him the welcome committee was unbeknownst to him, but here he was anyway. "Oh, the music is no bother, you have good taste though." he comments when she swings the door open, sticking his hands into his pockets "I uh, just noticed you were home while in the neighborhood and wanted to invite you to the bonfire."

"I do actually." Tabby said with a flush to her cheeks. "I'm going to wear them for Art Appreciation Day, the kids will think it's so cool. Or at least, I hope they will." She explained to her neighbor. This was good actually, she'd always wanted to get to know the other woman better, seeing as how they crossed paths multiple times. "Yeah, thank you again, really! Obviously I don't know the extent of your plans, but did you want to have lunch together? I was going to make a nice "end of summer" salad, and if that sounds yummy, you're more than welcome to stay. But if you have other plans, no worries."

Nodding as she laughed, Thea smiled. "Of course I do! Those one o'clock Amazon orders are the best kind." she admitted, lowering her arm when the other took the package. Thea and Tabitha had been neighbors ever sense Thea's return to Celestial Bay, and even though there were often times interactions were shared between the two - even just through a simple wave; she had grown quite fond of the other and was trying her best to get to know her however she could. "I can imagine you probably have the best outfit for those socks picked out too." she laughed, nodding in enthusiasm. "I wouldn't assume anything differently of course." she smiled. "I didn't mean to interrupt you though-" she commented, hearing the music in the background. "I was just on my way back home to have some lunch when I saw it and as I said earlier, I was worried it would get snatched up. I'm glad that it ended up in the right place."

She rolled her eyes but gave him a smile all the same. "Shit, I'm really sorry. That sounds so annoying. Like I don't know the difference. I know they're different, but the reasons why escape me. What a bitch." She agreed, grabbing herself some water from the fridge. "No nothing yet. Usually during the first week, we'll have all the kindergartners come down to learn what a library is. Then we'll bring in the older kids to teach them how to look up books. We set up little displays for the new year, but otherwise, smooth sailing in my world."

"channeling my inner gordon ramsay as we speak", liam grinned and pocketed his phone, directing all of his attention to tabby now. "y'know. i'm doing." he replied with a shrug. "still got a couple of last minute moms scouring the shelves for spiral notebooks and colored gel pens. speaking of crazy, i basically got verbally assaulted by a karen yesterday because i didn't know the difference between crostini and bruschetta. like??" he made a futile, exasperated gesture with his hand and shook his head. he didn't mind the recent influx of tourists, but some of the vacationers really needed to tone the hoity-toityness down a peg or two. "what about you? anything wild happening down at the library?"

Tabby didn't really want to have kids, at least not 100% yet, but she was definitely the motherly type. Came with the territory of being the first born in her family. So while Liam wasn't that much younger than her, she couldn't help but fall back into the way she was around her family. Plus she knew he'd had a rough go of it, though she didn't know the details. It was easy to see in the way his body tensed up.

"Sure thing. You can tell me how it is. I liked it but I feel like it needed something else." She mused, grabbing the pasta with garlic cream sauce she made earlier. As the pasta reheated, she leaned against the kitchen counter and turned to look at Liam. "Besides the wifi, how are you doing? Is the big back to school rush over? Or are you still getting all the crazy moms?"

"yeah, i'd honestly rather take a punch to the face every month than pay over $50 for wifi." liam muttered as he walked over to tabby's router and checked the password. he wasn't exactly making big bucks as a shelf stocker, and his parents didn't trust him with money anymore; which was totally fair considering last time they helped him out, he'd spent nearly all of it on xanax and takeout.

"i'll take some pasta if you're offering." liam replied over his shoulder. once he was connected to her wifi, he sat down at her kitchen table and pulled up his emails on his phone. tabby sort of reminded him of his mother in terms of generosity and the way she doted on him whenever he stopped by. it went without saying that he liked having her as a neighbor; she made him feel less homesick, even if celestial bay was technically his home now.

Taking a sip of her cocktail, Tabby closed her eyes in thought for a moment. Let it be said that she never back down from this kind of challenge. "Well I'd love to see Queen with Freddie Mercury, he died when I was just a little kid so I never got to see him in concert. My dad did back in the 70s and he said it was awesome. But I'd also love to see a kpop concert in person, they seem like such fun, you know? So like, probably Mamamoo or Twice. Ooh, or maybe Beyonce! She could hold her own next to Freddie. And then for the last artist, I think I'd have to do Twisted Sister. As for the location, I'd probably want to do some cool open-air amphitheater. So it goes Queen circa 1980, Beyonce, and then Twisted Sister to end the night with "I Wanna Rock".

“dream concert, go.” hayes said simply, pointing finger guns at the person closest to her. she loved asking people this question–learning their music tastes could tell her a lot about what kinda person they were. and not even in a bad way. over her years, she had come to learn that people were not one dimensional–the same person who adored jay-z could also be an avid taylor swift fan. she liked asking this question because people could design their dream experience, no matter what. “you can only pick three acts–but they can be anyone you want. and if you wanna share a venue or setlist or whatever, go for it. just means your kinda a nerd for being that prepared but honestly, i respect the hell out of that.” and, for the record, she had done the same for her concert too so. takes one to know one. “so, let’s here what you got.

"Again? Liam, this is like the 3rd time this month, you need to get better wifi." Tabby said, opening her door wider to let her neighbor in. She went over to her phone to turn off the music completely, before pointing to the router on the floor.

"Be my guest. But when you actually get a person, put me on. I'll go all "angry Jewish mom" on them if you want. Unless you're calling about something good. Do you want something to eat? I have some leftover pasta from dinner? Or I could make you a sandwich, I have some turkey." She added, heading over to her fridge. The hospitality was clearly ingrained into her.

shifting from one foot to the other, liam shook his head with a dismissive sweep of his hand. "nah, you're fine. i um- i actually came here to ask if i could borrow your wifi...? mine's fucked right now. i've been trying to talk to customer service for the past hour, but they keep transferring me to a dead line."

Tabby looked at the bag in the woman's hands, her face lighting up in excitement. "Oh my gosh, I didn't even realize my package had come. It's a bunch of random stuff from Amazon. You know, when it's 1 in the morning and you're browsing because you can't sleep and suddenly socks that look like famous paintings seems super appealing." She explained, leaning on her doorframe and taking the package. "Thank you, I really appreciate it. Knowing me I wouldn't have seen the email until the morning. And then I couldn't wear the socks to school!"

Thea had been walking through her neighborhood, trying her best to get her walk in before it was too late in the day. She liked to get at least a twenty minute walk in - preferably morning and night - and she was already getting a bit of a late start. She had just slowed from a short run back to a walk when a bag on the doorstep of someone else had caught her attention. Though, she didn't pay it much mind; ordering things online for delivery was popular these days so she left it be. However, now that she was on her way back to her own house, she noticed the bag was still there; and being the good Samaritan her father had taught her to be, she grew concerned. That's when she tapped on the door, hearing someone approach. When she noticed it was Tabitha, she shook her head, smiling. "No, honestly, that's a good song." she smiled, looking over her shoulder as if to get a better ability to hear the song she was playing. "I was just walking back home and saw this bag was still outside. I didn't want to intrude, but, my dad instilled in my brain to always do what's best and check on my neighbors." she smiled. "I just wanted to make sure it didn't get stolen."

The knock startled Tabby in the middle of a spin, her voice cracking in surprise. She quickly ran to her phone and lowered the volume of her music. Then she headed over to the door, face pink.

"Hey, is the music too loud? I'm sorry if it is. Sometimes I just get really into the song and I start singing and I get lost in my own little world. I'll keep it down. Unless, you're knocking on my door for a different reason?

Biography:

Tabitha was born as the oldest daughter to Ira and Barbara Cohen in Brooklyn. She is the oldest of three. She grew up in Brooklyn until she left for college.

She grew up in a large and loving Jewish family, celebrating holidays together. She also had a lot of friends from different cultures, so she was exposed to all different kinds of music and food.

Went to a SUNY in upstate New York for her undergrad. She majored in Education with minors in English and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

While she was there, she discovered her pansexuality, though at the time she called it bisexuality. She dated around and had fun but never had anything very serious.

For her Masters in Library and Information Studies, she went to the University of North Carolina. She had family who lived in the state, and was able to live with them during her program.

After she graduated, she got a job as an elementary school librarian back in New York, where she worked for 5 years.

It was there she met a boy and they dated for 3 of those years. Tabby was in love with him, ready to make a real commitment but he was obviously not ready yet. She wasn't willing to take on the role of someone's mother so she dumped him and moved to get a fresh start.

She moved to California, trying to go as far away as possible. She got a job in a Los Angeles high school, ready to enjoy the sun. She worked there for 6 years, enjoying herself immensely. She headed the school's DnD club, taking on the role of Dungeon Master for several students.

Tabitha met a women there, getting engaged after a year of bliss. But as they were planning the wedding, the truth started to come out. Lies about money, lies about plans, it seemed that her fiancee wanted to get married sure, just not to Tabitha. So, after a few long talks and attempts at counseling, Tabitha broke the engagement and left again.

This time she ended up back in North Carolina, getting a job as the school librarian in Celestial Bay. She's ready for another great year of introducing her students to fantastic worlds and interesting concepts, while fully embracing her own quirky self.

Personality:

Above all else, Tabitha is a nerd. She loves Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, mythology, robots, Dungeons and Dragons. Her favorite past time is to read and it shows. She always either has a book or her Kindle in her bag.

She can be a little awkward and shy about meeting new people, so she'll often blurt out random fun facts to ease the way.
