Beep beep; 7, 8, 21, 26, 27, 34, 47, 49, 50 for Jackson because I'm a nosy bitch 👁👁
ooooo this is a lot of questions hahahaha
7. Do they have any unusual fears?
I don't think I'd classify any of Jackson's fears (that he would absolutely say he doesn't have, he's not afraid of anything, what are you talking about?) as unusual. He really isn't afraid of much, and most of his fears tie directly into a fear of intimacy.
8. Do they collect anything? If so what and why?
Drumsticks. Because he's a drummer lol. Shot glasses from places he's been. And, uh, I'm not sure if this actually counts but languages. He speaks several, and he learned them because he enjoys learning new languages (and also he enjoys it when people expect him to not understand what they're saying and he can hit back in whatever language they're speaking). He knows enough languages that he actually rarely uses a translator when he's out and about.
21. What is more important to them, friends or family?
Friends, without question. The only family Jackson has left is his mother, and they're not very close. It's hard to get onto the list of people Jackson considers friends, but once you're there, you're absolutely more important to him than his mother lol.
26. Have they met any of their heroes? Did they regret it?
Hmmmm. This is kind of a cheesy answer, but for a long time Jackson's hero was his dad. And then he died, which was very difficult for Jackson because up to the point when his dad died, he'd really been trying to follow in his dad's footsteps. It was kind of a turning point for him where he realized 1)the reason he was trying so hard to be like his dad was because he felt that was the only way he might ever be 'good enough' for his mom, and 2) that the direction he wanted his life to go was not in his father's footsteps.
27. Has a chance encounter ever had an unexpected effect on them?
I think that this has happened multiple times, in different ways. A chance encounter as a kid on Arcturus led to a distant but very important lifelong relationship. A chance encounter on Omega ends up, for all intents and purposes, getting him benched (sent to Eden Prime). A chance encounter leads him to a chance to bring his best friend back from the dead. There are probably more, but these are the most striking, I think.
34. How well do they deal with grief?
Jackson deals with grief about as well as he deals with any other emotion, which is to say poorly at best. When Kaidan gets spaced over Alchera, he just flat out refuses to accept that Kaidan is dead. Very Loudly. Which does, eventually, lead to Hackett sending him to infiltrate the Shadow Broker's operations, which leads him both to helping Liara become the new Shadow Broker and recover Kaidan's body and to Cerberus and bring Kaidan back.
47. Would they lie to get someone else out of trouble? Even if they would have to take that someone else’s place?
Oooooooh. This is a good one. And the answer is, it depends. Because the thing is, no matter how close of a friend Jackson considers a person, or how he feels about that person, the mission always, always, always comes first. So, if it's someone he cares about and it doesn't cause him work problems, then maybe. The closest instance of something like this in his canon, I think, is that when Hackett calls up the Normandy about Dr. Kenson, Jackson takes the mission specifically to keep Kaidan out of it. He's worked in intelligence, and for Hackett, long enough to know that whoever goes on a mission like that is being set up as a scapegoat if anything goes wrong, and he absolutely will not allow Kaidan to be that scapegoat.
If it's a matter of choosing between completing an objective and getting his friend out of trouble, though? The answer is no.
49. Do they have trouble keeping their enemies and their friends straight?
Not really. He has a very short list of friends lol
50. What is your favorite thing about them?
Every time I answer this question, it's a different thing lol. I think my favorite thing about Jackson is the fact that the job comes first, always. It's such an interesting character trait to explore, especially when he does get attached to people. It's just very different from how I usually write characters to write someone who, no matter how much he cares about or loves someone, would absolutely and without question sacrifice them to get the job done if it became necessary.

biography.
Spacer: Both of your parents were in the Alliance military. Your childhood was spent on ships and stations as they transferred from posting to posting, never staying in one location for more than a few years. Following in your parents' footsteps, you enlisted at the age of eighteen.
War Hero: Early in your military career you found yourself facing an overwhelming enemy force. You risked your own life to save your fellow soldiers and defeat the enemy despite the impossible odds. Your bravery and heroism have earned you medals and recognition from the Alliance fleet. The War Hero almost single-handedly repelled an attack by batarian slavers on Elysium, earning the Star of Terra, the Alliance's highest honour.
personality.
Paragon personality. Johnathon was brought up with absent parents (both serving in the Alliance military). With strong military roots and connections, he joined at the age of 18. This means he has a background of strong military training, and taking orders from the Alliance. However, when the events of ME1 unfold, Johnathon begins to learn that sometimes the Alliance’s orders are simply for the best of humanity, and not for the universe as a whole. He is open minded, capable, kind, and one hell of a sniper. His determination to destroy the Reapers is fierce, however, he can seem closed off with his emotions due to military training and the stress of leadership.
