cassius gets briefly way into ancient human music and owns a replica carnyx (rather than a war instrument it was used in great celebrations and such to mimic vennette cries bc humans couldnt do so themselves) bc he was trying to learn about the songs the beholder used to sing in the basement. fyokla first meeting him while hes messing around with it WAY improves his impression of him and breaks the horrid picture of the man in his mind / plan to interact w him that he was going in with
