          IT  FEELS  IMPOSSIBLE  TO  PROCESS  EVERYTHING.     everything  that  josh  planned.     those  things  in  the  mines.    if  they’re  even  going  to  make  it  out  of  here.     but,     sam  wants  to  stay  somewhat  hopeful.    it’s  the  only  reason  she’s  even  keeping  it  together.     she’s  quiet  for  a  moment,     hues  flickering  over  mike.    inhaling  a  small  breath,    her  mind  tries  to  figure  out  the  right  words.     ❝     i’m  sorry  about  jess.     ❞     she  still  can’t  believe  it.    she  wants  to  hope  that  she’s  still  alive  but,     that’s  naive  thinking.     ❝     i’m  sure  you  did  everything  you  could,     mike.     ❞

sam gets that, more than she wishes she did. ever since that night, all she’s done is think. reason with her brain that she wasn’t insane and she knows what she saw in the mines. find someone to blame. she’s tried to put the blame on someone, anyone. at first, she wanted to be angry at josh. he was the one who brought them up there for his payback. they wouldn’t have even been there if it wasn’t for him, everyone would be alive if it wasn’t for that. but, sam knows that isn’t true. his sisters would still be dead and she knows he was hurting, more than even she knew. besides, how could she be angry at a dead man? clearing her throat, she inhales a small breath, struggling to meet the other girl’s gaze. ❛ there’s nothing wrong with thinking. especially after the shit we’ve been through. but, if you - if you ever want to talk about anything, i’m here. ❜

         sam’s  scared,      more  so  than  she’s  letting  on.      first,      she  finds  out  that  josh  had  planned  all  of  this  just  to  get  some  kind  of  sick  payback  on  what  happened  to  his  sisters.      if  anyone  got  how  upset  he  was,      it  would’ve  been  her.      they  were  her  best  friends  and  some  stupid  prank  the  rest  of  her  friends  came  up  with  cost  them  -  whatever  happened  to  them.      but,      that’s  all  it  was.      a  childish  prank  gone  wrong.      they  didn’t  deserve  this,      especially  not  now  with  monsters  running  around  trying  to  murder  them.      sam  forces  a  smile,      clearing  her  throat.      “     we’ll  be  fine,      we  just  need  to  stay  together.     ”
