child of winter says nothing  ,  rose-colored lips curving gently into a smile  ,  outstretched hands glimmering in the low light of the room.  she does not often seek out another’s companionship  ,  the snowflake has learned to be quite content on her own  &  yet  ,  she holds her hands out for her sister  ,  her  twin  .  elise is  ,  after all  ,  another half of her soul  ,  as poets might put it.
