Either Mother couldn't keep her mouth shut, or someone managed find out and tell the entire ballet corp that she caught us together."

Glancing up at the Comtesse from under her eyelashes, the former ballerina swallowed thickly. This was all such strange new territory, and one that came with its own set of risks.
After Joseph had been killed, NoΓ©mie swore that a man wild never again have a place in her life. Her children would have no other father. But she hadn't ever really expected to feel this way again. Marie had snuck up on her like a storm cloud on a spring day. And her presence was just as refreshing.
"And I you." She admitted, her voice shaking only slightly.
