It’s almost as if the Wisterian Princess’s words had bounced off Slane’s head, as the appointed doctor holds their fingers against Miyuu’s wrists, checking her pulse. She claims to not need a doctor, but that fact her strange & sudden illness had not gotten better these past few days, that points towards otherwise.

As cold & distant Slane was at times, he did care about Miyuu with all his heart. When her health was poor, it weighted on him. He was not willing to wait any longer to see if she would get better.

Something originally meant to be an alibi, & keep to two of them out of trouble, had suddenly become sentimental. Of course, the idea had always been to buy her something, proof of their time away from the castle, but he didn’t think he pick out a ring.

Something simply struck him when he saw the ring in the ‘prized jewelry’ display.

“Good, it suits you most perfectly.”

In a way, this ring almost represented to two of them. The ruby at the center for Slane, & the sapphires along the sides for Miyuu,

A soft spot he did have for her, though it might not have been obvious to everyone else, & Slane prefer to keep it that way. A secret almost, between the two of them, that the Comic Magus did have a heart in his chest; & it beat only for Miyuu.

This woman did many things to him, it seemed, as Slane never really felt the reins of passion before, but here, he was being... very... very passionate. To have simply returned the peck was one thing, but he had gone through the added trouble of bring her into his lap. His sole finger keeping her head elevated, & the succulent sound of their lips meeting repeatedly filling up the room, only to pull away when the dreadful need for air burned in their lungs.

Miyuu isn’t feeling too well.. she’s been taking different tinctures and supplements as instructed, but even then, the pregnancy is hitting her hard. But today was a little reminder…

She’d felt a kick..

Slane was no stranger to the struggles of pregnancy, not that he himself could ever know the difficultly of women who carried, but it was never an easy thing. His own mother struggle massively when she was pregnant, more so when she was with him rather then his sister, so he had hoped to make Miyuu's as smooth as he possibly can.

He already went through the trouble of looking for suitable midwifes to help his wife along her journey, from the earliest months all the way to birth, & nearly doubled her staff, mostly with maids who had experience with dealing children or sick persons. Slane wanted Miyuu to have all the help she could need or want, more so during moments when he had to deal with some important work & could not be there for her, as much as he tried to be as he was making so much more time to see her now.

Such went to today, one of the new maids blitzing to the prince's office as he tried to rush through the day's work, so he would be able to see his wife as soon possible. Bursting through te doors, & immediately telling him that the princess felt their baby kick! It was news that swept aside the original feeling of anger he had at someone entering his office without permission, & made him drop everything to go see Miyuu right away.

"Miyuu!" And she her right away he did, quickly arriving into her chambers within minutes of hearing the news, & going straight beside her in her bed.

"Is it true?! Our baby... they're starting to kick?"

Slane was never good at comforting. He never knew all the tricks to make a person smile or stop crying, unlike his sister, whose heart & soul went out to others when they were at their lowest. In truth he never felt bothered by other people’s unhappiness.

So why was it that when Miyuu was upset, it bothered him so?

Despite all his intelligent, Slane didn’t have the ability to just say something comforting, & make everything better. He was not his sister.

As if shutting the door would somehow make Slane unable to hear the happenings behind it, especially with the king’s volume.

Really, perhaps it wasn’t overly surprising that the king was worried about an heir, when it came to royal affairs, three thing dominates them all: scandal, marriages & children. But it was not Miyuu’s fault, when it came to commutation of their marriage, Slane was hardly interested in it, never pursued it & never forced the issue. He’d rather wait until she was ready, until they were both ready, & with them both being so young, they had so much time to wait for children.

And the way his father-in-law spoke, the tone in itself was vile. He may have arranged their marriage, but he had no rights to speak of their relationship. Nor did anyone has the right to speak of his wife so lowly.

Slane already had a short-temper, even shorter with disgusting beings like the Wisterian King, combine that with how much he cared & treasured his dear Miyuu... there was only one outcome of this meeting.

The Magus Prince placed his palm against the door, which he pushed some of his mana into, causing the door to emit a red hued glow. Which, after of moment of charge, caused the to door explode off it’s hinges with a hulking boom & fly into the office.

Normally thin, crimson eyes turn wide in surprise, his attention in what was pervious a piece of paper with important detailed events over the past few days, now given completely to the woman who pecked his cheek. The Wisterian Princess has really managed to learn how to surprise the Camellian Prince over there months together, hasn't she?

With Slane's much larger hand hold Miyuu's much tinier one, he had slipped a ring onto her finger. It was strange really, that until this point, the now Wisterian Crown Prince had not giving his princess a marriage ring, he had put one on her finger at their wedding, but it was merely a prop ring the king had made for the ceremony & the ceremony only.

She was not even allowed to keep that ring, & Slane thought it strange she didn't have one. So, he had taken her out to a jewelry shop within Wisteria for this propose.

There were practically a thousand different things he could have said about this.

Why was she wearing those ungodly heels outside if she couldn’t walk in them? Why would she pick such a long dress that she could step on like she had done? Yes, something as simple as wearing heeled shoes a bit higher then what she’s used to & a long dress so lengthy it left a slight train before her feet, was really all it took for the very skinny princess to trip & sprain her ankle in what was meant to be a simple evening walk in the castle gardens.

And, a sigh left Slane. He wanted to be upset with Miyuu, but he didn’t seem to have it in him to do so.

“Alright, fine. We’ll do this that way then.”

With his words, he soon rolled the sleeves of his magus robes back, & simply... plucked his wife off of the ground. One hand holding her back, & the other scooping her up from under her legs, he picked her up in an effortless princess carry & started off back towards the castle.
