-작품설명 : 차가 다니던 도로가 이제는 사람이 걷고 풀벌레가 우는 숲이 되려고 합니다.

고가를 한 그루의 나무로 표현한다는 기본개념을 존중으로 이번 7017프로젝트 오픈 행사기간 동안 "Shoes Tree 퍼포먼스"는

7017프로젝트가 담고 있는 메세지를 전달하는 동시에 도시민과 함께 작품을 만들어 가는 과정을 통하여

도심 속에 잠시나마 잃어버린 가치와 회복할 수 있는 우리의 작은 항변이 되어줄 것입니다. 도시 안에 본질적 결핍은 신발이라는 매개체를 통하여 또 하나의 줄기가 되고 대중의 언어가 되어 방향을 제시해 줍니다

The street that cars drove down, became a garden, where people walk and insects buzz.

 The “Shoes Tree” performance will convey the message of the Seoullo 7017 project during its opening event while respecting the basic theme of expressing the overpass through a single tree.

 By allowing city dwellers to participate in the creation of this work of art, the performance will also represent, at least briefly, the values we have lost in the heart of the city and quietly proclaim that those values can be restored. 

The medium of shoes will be a conduit and a mass language pointing the way toward addressing the fundamental issue of urban scarcity.

박원순 서울시장님께서 "서울로7017" 개장행사를 맞이하여 황지해정원작가의 슈즈트리를 방문하셨습니다. 박원순 시장님은 "예술품이 반드시 예뻐야하는것은 아니다" 라고 슈즈트리의 흉물논란에 대한 소견을 말씀하셨습니다.Mayor of Seoul, Wonsoon Park was in Jihae Hwang's installation "Shoes Tree" for the opening ceremony of "Seoullo7017" yesterday. He said "Art work does't always have to be pretty" against what newspaper mentioned.

"슈즈트리"는 "서울로7017"이 세곳에서 만나 하나의 다리로 이어지고 그것에 따른 또하나의 나뭇가지를 연상하게 한다.그래서 작품속에서는 신발의 끈들이 나무의 잔뿌리를 연상케하기도 하고 곳곳에 심어져있는 꽃과 식물들은 슈즈트리에서 한몸이 되어있다. "슈즈트리"앞에서 프랑스남자분을 만났는데 그분이 말씀하시기를 "와 이 작품은 진정한 현대적 미술품이다. 매우 감동적이다". 라고"Shoes Tree" looks like a branch of a big tree which is "Seoullo7017". Three bridges split in the end of "Seoullo7017" as if it has its root.In the installation, shoestrings suggest small roots and flowers and plants take in the part of the tree.In front of "Shoes Tree", I met a French man who told me. "This is a truly contemporary work. It is very impressive!"
