why do you support brooke and scott so much? they are so annoying and are constantly bickering and fighting!! i honestly feel like they don't deserve the win bc all they do is whine and complain about each other instead of enjoying the race

Short Answer: First of all, there’s no such thing as an “undeserving winner” on The Amazing Race. The team that wins mainly wins because they did the best on the final leg, which is the only leg that matters. It’s not Big Brother or Survivor where a “bitter jury” can result in an “undeserving” winner (though that’s a story for another day).

And they don’t just whine and complain about each other. Yes, they did that, but The Amazing Race is such a high stress situation that said whining and complaining is almost always a valid reaction. These two (like this entire cast) are also BFFs with each other so I can fully just sit back and enjoy the drama this season has given me.

Lastly, to summarize this, all the reasons you listed about hating them is precisely why I love them *shrugs* You’re entitled to your opinion and I’m entitled to mine!

But deeper thoughts below.

I can definitely see why people would hate them on that, however, I usually love the bickering teams on this show so that’s one positive for me.

In addition, I actually admire them racing because yes, they do bicker. Yes, Brooke is a bitch. Yes, Scott intentionally trolls Brooke. However despite everything they argue and fight and bicker about, they do the most important thing of a successful team on the race - GET SHIT DONE.

Re: Their Edit

Recaps by other racers (I forgot who but I THINK it was #TeamFun and London) have stated that Brooke actually sped through a lot of tasks with ease. Notice how all her bitching during the episodes (with the exception of the ladle Roadblock in Africa, again, iconic) mainly occurs when she’s with Scott and not the other teams. The biggest red flag of Brooke’s bitching being something played up way too much by editors is the Vietnam 2 leg. Despite being shown doing absolutely nothing but yelling “I CANT” during the bikes (and Scott hilariously quipping on her doing so), they check in at the Pit Stop completely happy to be in 2nd and Scott noting Brooke’s “positivity” in a Secret Scene. Due to this disconnect with the edit and the raw unedited footage, I kind of believe that Brooke was simply given a bad edit in a way.

Lastly, the two are major TAR superfans (which I enjoy unless you wear green and are called Justin & Diana) and their metagame is pretty good. The edit didn’t show it, but Brooke & Scott have actually been very strategic throughout especially in some secret scenes towards the endgame of the season.

Notable moments include:

-Leg 7: On the way to the Pit Stop with London & Logan, Brooke (via Scott’s podcast) kept reminding him to make sure they jump on the mat at the same time. This was because, per Race rules, if two teams tied for last, the team that placed higher in the previous leg would survive while the other would be last. By doing this move (and it working - both teams jumped on the mat at the same time), Brooke & Scott ensured that they would get to live another day.

-Leg 8: (On a Secret Scene) Scott actually found a flight that would get them in 95 minutes over all other teams. Brooke argues with him and brings up valid points (such as missing a connection would be deadly and doom them - the flight had 2 stops with relatively short connecting times) and they decide to stick with the other teams. Considering how it was a leg with a U-Turn, it was better for them to stick with the pack than take a risk.

-Leg 9: It’s just there for 2 seconds, but there’s a short clip of Brooke holding a notebook while in a cab - presumably studying for the final memory task in advanced while in traffic.

-Leg 11: “If they’re laughing at you, it means that you’re doing it wrong”. This is a throwaway line, but it is something VERY notable to see if you’re doing a task wrong or not especially in tasks with multiple judges.

In addition, their edit (should they win) would be VERY HILARIOUS and absolutely ICONIC considering the teams we have had win in the past ten seasons:

Amy & Maya (amazing but rly rly under the radar)

That’s officially TWO out of TEN past winners before this season that I enjoy with everyone else being mediocre to awful. 

Perhaps it’s the power of this season, but I have actually enjoyed everyone on this iconic season of the Race and wouldn’t mind anyone winning (I only didn’t want Redmond to win and now they’re out!). But Brooke & Scott’s winning would destroy the very fabric of Reality TV edit-wise. It will be the biggest shock to this show since Flo & Zach. And that, my friend, is why I am 100% backing them to win this season. Thank you for your question.
